Omniture, Inc.announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Touch Clarity, a leading on-demand provider of automated behavioral targeting. Under the terms of the agreement, Omniture has agreed to pay total consideration of up to $51.5 million (plus approximately $8.5 million in assumed vested stock options).

Profits more than doubled in the fourth quarter for information-management vendor EMC Corp. and beat the estimates of Wall Street analysts Tuesday. In the last three months of 2006, EMC earned $389 million, 18 cents per share, on revenue of $3.21 billion.

According to Alterian's transatlantic annual survey of more than 500 direct marketers, marketing services providers and agencies. eighty-five percent of respondents expect their online direct marketing expenditures to increase in 2007. The spending projection is the largest expected increase since the Alterian Annual Survey began in 2003.

IBM and FileNet Corporation today announced that the two companies have entered into a definitive agreement for IBM to acquire FileNet, a publicly held company based in Costa Mesa, Calif., in an all-cash transaction at a price of approximately $1.6 billion, or $35 per share. The acquisition is subject to FileNet shareholder approval, regulatory reviews and other customary closing conditions. It is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2006.
