I guess this post goes to show that even YourShoppingKaki makes shopping mistakes :(

Long story short:
Today, I went shopping. I saw this really pretty dress.
I saw that the waistband was stretchable. Ooh, can stretch up to fit my waist! Yay!
The only thing is ... I forgot that my bust is totally not the same size as my waist. :(

Conclusion:
I cannot fit into this dress. Super bummed about it.
Please take it off my hands quickly so I can stop beating myself up!
Letting it go for RM35 including Pos Ekspres or Pos Laju :)
It's brand new, totally unwashed, totally just bought this a few hours ago.

It's the popular cut-out back dress that is taking the online shopping world by storm :)
Really a super cute dress!

Fits UK6-10
Fits until bust 34 inches
Length: 28 inches

Email me at yourshoppingkaki@gmail.com to buy this! :)

Status: Reserved for Angeline See (Updated at 9.12pm)

Happy Shopping!

Lo and behold...
one of my favourite feature interviews to date :D

Prepare to get acquainted with one of our main partner blogshops,
with deliciously good long-term offers for YSK readers :D
Read on!

Q&A with Cecilia
Owner of Dot
  • YSK: Tell us about the people behind DOT!
  • Cecilia: It's basically run by ME! I'm the person who's doing all the sourcing, buying, modelling for the photo shoots, invoicing, checking email and spamming chatboxes. Haha.. So, the customers are actually talking to me when they email DOT for enquiries. I do have 2 helpers, one is my sister, Yuen Pyn and my hubby, Chee Wee. My sister is the photographer for all the shootings. My hubby is the shareholder and also my morale support. ;)
  • YSK: Why "DOT"? And what does "yixiaodian" mean?
  • Cecilia: Hrrmm... It was named after my daugther. Remember Princess Dot from A Bug's Life? Yup, I got the inspiration from it. My daughter was very young, say around 3 months when I wanna to start DOT. My hubby and me were cracking our heads to come up with a name. So, I thought why not we just named it DOT because our little girl reminds me of Princess Dot from A Bug's life and also she was so tiny, just like a little dot. Furthermore, i think that everything starts from little to, big, bigger and more, from a chinese saying: 积少成多. I do hope that DOT will become BIG one day, not just merely "DOT" but a well-known brand name. 'yixiaodian' is just a translation of DOT into chinese which means one little dot.
  • YSK: When and why did DOT begin? Was it a lifelong dream or a sudden whim?
  • Cecilia: Haha. I can't really remember when DOT began. Operating it as a blogshop is to fulfill my dream of owning a boutique. It begun as the ambassador of Cassettee in Singapore. At that time, I was still working full-time in Singapore. I didn't have enough time to go for sourcing and had totally no idea on how to operate a blogshop. So, if you trace back to my earlier posts in DOT, you can see I don't update them often like I do nowadays.
  • YSK: What has been the most memorable DOT experience for you?
  • Cecilia: My most memorable experience is the one that I gave a customer a wrong bank account number. Haha.. How could you give the customer a wrong bank account number??! Luckily, the customer was kind enough to transfer the amount to be given that she has received the items. She could just ignore me. Haha..
  • YSK: What kind of items or style does DOT offer?
  • Cecilia: This is a tough question. Basically, all the items that Dot offers are the ones that I would wear them personally. It's because that all the items are hand-picked by ME! I wouldn't sell anything that I wouldn't wear.

  • YSK: What's the price range of your items?
  • Cecilia: Dresses are priced between RM32 to RM60. Tops and bottoms are priced between RM20 to RM40. Jackets are priced between RM45 to RM55. Belts are priced between RM15 to RM25.

  • YSK: Who's the little kid in the pictures sometimes? :P
  • Cecilia: She's the little dot. She's my daughter, Jye Hsuan. She'll stand beside me whenever she sees me posing during the photo shooting session. =)

  • YSK: What can we see in Dot's future? ;)
  • Cecilia: Well, we hope to offer more apparels and accessories in different styles in the future. Lastly, we hope to have a physical boutique with our self-manufactured items. =) We are planning to come out with our self-manufactured items soon. However, we are currently in the planning stage. =)
  • YSK: What's your favourite item you've ever sold on DOT, and why?
  • Cecilia: It would be Stud Fever. I was super duper happy and excited when I first came across this clincher. I decided that I have to keep one for myself. It's because it reminds me of the "Roger" belt that Carrie Bradshaw wore in the Sex and The City movie. I'm a big fan of Sex and The City. If I manage to find anything that resembles the apparels that the stars wore in the show, I'll make sure that they are available on Dot. =)
Carrie Bradshaw & Stud Fever:

Other one-of-a-kind belts on DOT:

  • YSK: Do you have a promotion for YSK readers? :D
  • Cecilia: Of course! We have a collaboration with this awesome YSK website that we are giving out 10% discount for items reviewed by YSK. In addition, we are also giving out free postage via Pos Express for items not reviewed by YSK. All you have to do is to quote the password: "Dot Me!" and you are entitled for the free postage or 10% discount. =)
Here are some of the many items that YSK readers get to steal away at a bargain! ;)

You know you want in on those offers!
Especially before the next girl reading this gets to them first. ;)

I love all my readers so much, seriously, I can't wait to hold more contests to reward you more! I've selected four winners to send these vouchers too, and have emailed them already! :D)
Hi shopping kakis! :)

Yesterday at the KBU Pink Bazaar, there were plenty of goodie bags for female shoppers - and in those goodie bags were things that were pretty darn awesome! :D Some of those things, however, are totally cool and hard to come by - so because I'm not using them, I've selected some as prizes in today's giveaway contest! :)

I just felt like giving a little something back to my readers (that means you!) for being so wonderful and supportive these past 10 months, since YourShoppingKaki first began! :D

Here's how today's contest is going to go. Read carefully! :)
1. The prizes for today's contest are discount vouchers for Strip :) It is a really popular place to get waxed.
2. This contest starts NOW and CLOSES at 11.59pm tomorrow night (Monday 16th November).
3. I will mail the voucher free-of-charge to the postal address the winners provide me with. :) But I'm not responsible if they get lost in the mail :( There will be no tracking numbers for snail mail! :P

MORE INFO
Vouchers to be used at Strip (Bangsar/The Curve/Sunway) -
each voucher offers you 50% discount off any 2nd ala carte waxing treatment :)
This is an awesome prize for those who want to get waxed for 2 body parts!
Because you have to pay full price for the 1st body part - the 2nd one is 50% off.
I have four of these vouchers to give away :)
Expires: 31st January 2010

Click on the picture below for more details! You can call them to enquire, too.

Want to win a Strip discount coupon?

That means it can be 4 lucky people or even 1 lucky person with 3 lucky friends :P

If you'd like to win a coupon, just follow these 3 simple steps:

2. Answer this question: What's your favourite blog post you have ever read on YourShoppingKaki?
3. Tell me why :)
1 email = 1 entry.
Send in as many emails as you like :)

That's all! :)
The point of today's contests is to reward my readers, say a li'l thank you!
So I hope some of you out there would like that waxing coupon :P

Today, Your Shopping Kaki is going to highlight two new plus-sized blogshops -
and the first one is CuCuCamber - where you can find plus-sized for RM35!

Say with me now: Yayyyyyyyyy~

Most of their clothes can fit both plus-sized and "free-sized" folks (hehe that means UK 6-10),
so keep on reading to check out what this newbie is all about!

It popped out of the blue with a palette of yummy vintage dresses -
all sorts of colourful prints and patterns, and 100% brand new! :)
The price? RM35!

Then along came brand new, non-vintage dresses and add-ons (so far boleros and jackets)!
The price? RM35!

Then, one day, along came maxi dresses!
The price? RM45!
Okay, okay, so it doesn't tally with my "RM35" concept -
but RM45 is very affordable for maxi dresses :P

And now, they're pretty much a go-to site for plus-sized jumpsuits and capri pants. :D

And striped or checkered boyfriend tees! :D

If you've got RM35 on your budget,
you know where to head on to! ;)

*Click HERE to visit CuCuCamber now!*

The review you've been waiting for ...
A review that's taken me 12 hours to write (lol!) ...

An explosively awesome event by Tongue In Chic! :D
Hands down the best bazaar I've personally ever been to. :)
Besides tonnes and tonnes of really awesome and unique stuff to shop for,
and lots and lots of shoppers - I've never seen a bazaar so crowded in a long, long time! -
there was also a Yahoo! Youreka! booth giving out free movie tickets to see 2012. :D
(Thanks again, the happy people at Itsy Beadsy for helping me get tix! *Big hugs*)

Technically, I was there to help out a friend who was a vendor - but after
off-loading and setting up (and learning how much hard work goes into being a bazaar vendor!),
I went around to take photos for a few hours :) As usual, it was fun but exhausting! Haha!
But a must! So that my readers have pictures to enjoy from a really enjoyable event! :D

Venue: Zouk, KL
Date: Sunday, 15th November
Time: 12pm - 7pm (but I was there from 9.30-7.30! XD)

The entire street market was divided into 3 places:
The Foyer (or Terrace Bar, I'm not sure), Zouk Mainroom, Velvet
It kinda felt like there were 3 bazaars in 1 building, which was pretty awesome :D

FOYER
All the accessories' vendors were here. :D
Super crowded area since it's the first thing you see when you walk in!

ZOUK MAINROOM
This was where most of the vendors were :D

VELVET
A very disco-feel place, featuring non-shopping booths like WAO as well!
One of the most popular items to buy were hard executive studded bags :D

Some miscellaneous photos I thought were interesting! :D
Can't call them Style Shots because practically everyone who went to the bazaar
were walking style shots! Seriously, the best-dressed crowd I've ever seen in my LIFE!
Haha, and you should definitely bookmark this page in TiC for super-gorgeous pictures,
because my camera wasn't very well-behaved in disco lighting at all :(

Left-to-right:
1. Those cool embellishments on Nareez turned a plain tee into a popping work of art!
2. Check out how Bila's used her studs to DIY a studded tank top & studded headband!
3. Look at what I bought! :P San from LahLahLand (who I bought it from) is holding it up for me. :D
My only purchase of the day! I hardly had time to shop, but it's oklah :)
I'm super-loving my new grey tank top and detachable eclectic rainbow vest! :D

Without further ado ...
Let's check out the vendors who were there! ;)
I tried to get a pic of everyone but I missed out some (couldn't find them)... sorry! :(

Women's Aid Organisation | Saint Corp
Two awesome booths. WAO is a women's rights group, while Saint Corp is doing
this awesome thing where they sell their own things for charities like animal shelther,
orphanages - right now they're raising money for Furry Friends Farm. :D Support!

Chic Charity
Tongue In Chic's own bit for the good cause! :)
Looks like I caught some candid shots of Karen from TiC. Lol. :D

Chic Picks
Tongue In Chic's handpicked pieces from around the region :D
What do you think, girls? Fashion's next "it" things? ;)

Beautiful Disaster
Celine was quite possibly the busiest vendor of the day! :D
Endless stream of shoppers at her booth, trying on hairbands and accessories :)

Deoldies | C Square
C Square's name isn't actually written like that, it's that "square" with the small 2 up there...
I don't know how to type it on my keyboard :P Anyway they'll be at the next Chic Pop event -
they sell preloved designer items and high street stuff :D Definitely check 'em out!

Emmet Garage Sales | Eff-Bombs (most famously known for selling DIY studs :D)

Like Seriously
I asked the Like Seriously trio to each pick one favourite item they were selling! :D
The verdict (just for fun!):

Oripop.com | Evey & Nat (only at bazaars, not online)

Pay Whatever You Like And Its Yours | MyFavouritees

Rob My Closet (Balmain military jackets in-store!)

So Beautiful (a shop in Sunway Pyramid)| Petite Lass

Take Me | Tea & Sympathy (A boutique in Bangsar)

Wheel Love
An awesome store in PJ! :D Upstairs is a tattoo parlour. Woot :P
Ground Floor, No.28, Jalan SS15/4,
47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
Opening Hours: 12pm - 8pm [Check them out!]

UsUsUs Clothing | YMF

Awesome, awesome, awesome event.
Can't wait for the next Chic POP Street Market -
and this time, all I want to do is shop! :D
Don't you? ;)

Ladies and gentlemen,

The Final Round for the December's Blogshop of the Month
Readers' Choice Award voting competition has officially BEGUN!

After 284 votes in Round 1,
your top 3 finalists are revealed!

Ladies Fashion
Vintage Biri-Biri
The It Girl

Ladies Fashion
Well-known in the online shopping world for their notoriously unbeatable prices,
will kindness towards allowances and limited salaries trump all in this bad economy?

Vintage Biri-Biri
Or will it be the queen of vintage blogshops, with a household name for vintage-lovers,
and items that sell out so fast you wonder if they were ever available to begin with?
Will their one-of-a-kind pieces win them the ultimate bragging rights?

The It Girl
Or will it be the seeming "underdog" of this contest, a newbie who has made it
and proven itself amongst some of the biggest names in the blogshop industry?
Will its significant leaps and bounds in presentation and improvement win it the coveted
Blogshop Of The Month title, giving hope for new blogshops everywhere?

You decide. ;)

Scroll down to the bottom of this website to vote!

Voting ends when November ends :)

FOOTNOTE
I was halfway blogging about Chic POP Street Market last night when I fell asleep :( Totally zonked out, lol. Sorry! Picking up where I left off now, full post should be up in a few hours. Like 100 pictures too! :D

How was your Saturday? :D
Were you at the KBU Pink Bazaar, shopping for a good cause? ;)

Here are about 50 snapshots from today, hope you'll like them -
and do support our local bazaars by attending them when you're free! :D

A pretty well-organised and well-executed event,
kudos to the KBU Student Council! :D
Everyone was really, really nice too. :)
Plenty of happy shoppers today!

If I had to describe the Pink Bazaar in three words, they would be:

Oh my, it's Friday the Thirteenth! :P
But Halloween is over, and Christmas/Year-End Sales have started to kick in!
Hauntingly good stuff is available all over the local online shopping scene,
but here's one blogshop YOU have chosen for me to highlight! :D

YourShoppingKaki proudly presents ...
August's Blogshop of the Month
Miss Shopaholic's Closet

Nominated for the effort they put into the photoshoots,
reknowned for excellent customer service,
and infamous for garnering that landslide win in the BOTM contest ...
this is one Reader's Choice Award winner interview you can't miss! :D

Q&A with Miss Shopaholic, Tracia

Owner of Miss Shopaholic's Closet

  • YSK: Congratulations, Tracia! Now tell us, how did it all begin?
  • Tracia: Thanks Sha-Lene! Was very happy to be nominated and even happier to actually win it! Thanks to every shopaholic out there who have voted and supported us! =) Miss Shopaholic's Closet started off for fun with a friend cause we both love shopping! I was going for holiday in Taiwan then, and a lot of my friends actually asked me to shop more so that they can buy from me! At the same time, my co-owner (at that time) is going to Bangkok! So we decided to shop more of the stuff we like and share it among ourselves and our friends when we are back! We then started miss shopaholic's closet website (with the help of my sis) and invited all our friends to shop with us!

The landslide votes that saw MSC to victory, with 624 votes!

  • YSK: What's the reason behind your blogshop name?
  • Tracia: It's quite obvious! (not very creative with names eh!) *hehe* The whole concept when we started out this e-shop is to share the shopping buys we managed to find for ourselves and also share our ideas of how to mix and match with the existing or new items that we have bought! Every single piece of item that you see from our e-shop, it’s something we will buy for ourselves and hang into our own closet as well ;) That's why, this is miss shopaholic's closet!! From miss shopaholic's closet to your closet! =)

The most recognizable blogshop banner throughout August! ;)
  • YSK: What would you say is the most memorable memory from running MSC?
  • Tracia: Hhmm... there's a lot! From taking part in various bazaars, making new friends with other e-shop owners and buyers and also being approached to sponsor items for photoshoot of a new online magazine for women to having our first fashion show during the launch of the magazine recently! All these experiences will not be possible without miss shopaholic's closet. The most memorable one will definitely be my involvement with the online magazine, meeting the founder, Yus who is an aspiring young entrepreneur and also winner of the Dutch Lady SHINE 'Itstartsinme' Project.

Photoshoot pictures!

  • YSK: Who are the people behind MSC? Tell us about yourselves! :)
  • Tracia: miss shopaholic's closet started off with two self declared shopaholics, me and my friend, Cindy. However, when Cindy got married, her priorities shifted to her family and hence, I decided to take over to continue with miss shopaholic's closet alone! Cindy now became one of my frequent buyers instead! =) Running miss shopaholic's closet alone is not easy as I also have a full time job. However, thanks to my ever supporting mum, she helps me a lot in posting out the parcels to my shoppers and also during bazaars! My sisters also volunteered to be models whenever they are back as they are both overseas. Photos are all taken in my room with the pink wall as background.

  • YSK: What can we expect from MSC in the near future? ;)
  • Tracia: Besides shopping, I also love travelling. So do expect overseas goodies up for sale as well!! My next holiday will be Paris and London in December! I'm currently having the 2nd round of designer bags pre-order! ;) It's your chance now if you have missed the first round in April! Besides designer bags, we are also having pre-orders for high street european brands. =) Plus you can save on international postage / shipping cost cause I will be bringing it back for you! (Psst..... check out Miss Shopaholic's Closet for more details yah!)

  • YSK: What's your top 3 favourite items you've ever sold on MSC?
  • Tracia: Wow this is tough! I actually have most of the stuff in my own closet =P However if I really have to choose 3 only, then:
  • 1) Ribbon Waist Belt which I wear very often as it gives me an instant update to my attire effortlessly! Plus, it can be worn both ways and goes with almost everything! *CLICK*

  • 2) Heart Wedges which I heart to bits! Really fell in love with it when I saw it, that's also cause I've got a thing for black, white and red colour combo! Haha! *CLICK*

  • 3) Polka Dot Tube Dress which I'll wear to work with a jacket or a shirt inside and then easily transform to a tube dress for after work outings! Oh and the cutting fits perfectly! *CLICK*

  • YSK: Is there anything you'd like to say to everyone who voted you to the winning title? :D
  • Tracia: Yes of course! Many many thanks to all of you! Really appreciate your support! Besides all my dear online shoppers, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my friends who have supported me in the beginning and til now! They straight away voted for me when they knew bout this! Many of them are my frequent buyers who encouraged me to start miss shopaholic's closet in the first place, scold me when I have not updated for a long time, straight away bank in, call or email me to reserve the items for them. Some of our outings and meet ups are turned into shopping sessions as I will bring the stuff that they are interested in for them! I really appreciate everyone of you! As for my online shoppers, you all are fantastic too cause you don't even know me and you put your trust in me to shop with me and also voted for me! Especially when I was doing the first pre-order for designer bags before my trip to Europe in April, it really amazes me that my shoppers actually bank in thousands of ringgits with no questions asked and waited patiently for it! The online shopping community is really amazing and I am glad I am part of it! The trust and support is something I appreciate deeply! Thank you everyone for making miss shopaholic's closet possible!! I will try my best to bring in more goodies for everyone! Last but not the least, thanks Sha-Lene for organizing this! =)
  • YSK: Aww, you're welcome! :) I heard you've got something planned for YSK readers - now's the time to tell all! :D
  • Tracia: Yes of course! We are currently having 20% discounts storewide including sales items on top of the sales price!! Now that's really a bargain eh!! Sales period is until 20th November 2009. As a YSK reader, you will get free registered mail postage on top of the discounts!! Password is "miss shopaholic's closet is my shopping kaki". (Free postage applicable for addresses within Malaysia only)

Sneak peak before you head on over to the real thing! ;)
