I was going through my wedding photography picture archives of photographs today and I rediscovered this shot I took at a Nigerian Wedding a couple of years ago in Chelmsford Essex . The reason why I don't blog so often is trying to decided what wedding picture to put up next amongst all these lovely photographs of all these wonderful brides and people we have shot. For example these wedding was in 2008, So I have decided over the next couple of weeks to raid the achives and put up images from prevoius weddings we have covered. I am currently in Ghana at the moment preparing for some weddings I have to shoot in Accra & Kumasi Ghana. Just resting at the moment but also looking for a photograph to put up so I decided on this one. This is a shot from a recent wedding I covered in New Jersey USA, The bridal preparation was at the Hilton Newark Hotel,Newark, New Jersey USA. This is one of my favourite shots from the wedding, I decided to convert it to duotone sepia which is one of my favourite colour tones. Abi Yeni Rotimi I managed to take quite a few shots when the make up artist where preparing the girls, there were a few bridemaids so the Bride had to hire 2 make up artist whom were very good. Now while on the subject of Make up artist , I have come across loads of Make up artist in a ten year period of covering weddings and have met loads of professional and dedicated artist and also met some hmmmmm well bad ones...lol So This is my mini advise sessionto Brides to be, things you should look out for. 1.If you feel that something doesn't feel right then its not right...remember its your face and you have to wear that look all day and it also doesnt make your photographers job any easier. A Good Make Up artiost should have some knowledge about how light and reflection from camera affects your complexion. 2. You need a Make Up artist that is professional, Quick and not someone that is emotional attached to your day....this isn't her pet project its your wedding day...I have seen too many countless occassions of bride complaining that their Make up artist took too long that not only did the poor girl arrive at Church Late but she also didnot get a chance to take any photographs at the house because there was no time for photographs anymore. It's such a wonderful and beautiful affair shooting outdoor summer weddings, This is a shot of the Church Service & Blessing of this wonderful Ghanaian & Nigerian Couple on the ground of the Fennes in Chelmsford Essex just in case you are a loooking for an all inclusive venue for your wedding day. Normally when you look at a photograph you can normally tell whats happening in the photograph. This shot can easily be a shot of the bride getting in or out of the car. Ok ok....the bride was getting in the car in the morning getting ready to make her way to the church. We are pretty much rounding up our wedding campaign for weddings in Europe and getting ready for Weddings in Lagos Nigeria and other parts of Nigeria in December 2009. At the moment we are just at the stage of developing loads of Wedding websites which takes up a lot of our time in the studio.... but its what we do and it's amazing to get positive responses back from our clients once the links are up. This is a photograph from a recent Wedding I shot in Accra Ghana..... As promised I am still working on the syllabuses for our photography work shops and we will be launching it very soon... On another note, it's only until we experience problem with Internet and other related technologies that we understand how our lives and businesses depend so much on them. When I use to shoot film the Wedding Photographs and Wedding Album was ready in a week. Nowadays there are so many process and stages we have to go through until we get to the final product. What am I getting at? I have just being experiencing some problems on my online server thats creating a delay on the wedding slideshows. apart from that its business as usual.

This is a snapshot I took recent at a wedding at Porchester Hall, London.I was asked recent why i don't sharpen the eyes of subjects in photographs that I put on my blog? Well the answer is quite simple, I believe that sometimes as a photographers we can get a bit carried away with using a lot of photo editing software to enhance photographs. Its a very thin line between being a Photographer and a Photo Manipulating/Editing Artist. I try my best to depict on camera a true representation of what I see and only use photoshop and other such editing software to enhance and compliment a photograph but not overwhelm it. For Example in this portait I decided not to sharpen the photograph at all, I just did a Contrast adjustment. Yours Truly..Abi Yeni-Rotimi

Things have been pretty quiet on the pre wedding shoot season this year, the weather has been a bit unpredictable. hold on; I am forgot we are in U.K after all...lol We have managed to do about 15 Pre wedding this year some of them have been abroad during destination wedding Photography wedding coverage in the States, Carribbean & Africa. We will put up a few more photographs in the coming weeks.
