Went for the launch of Zinc art space last night,
and i daresay there is nothing else like this in KL!

Zinc will showcase different works ranging from
3-D installations to current works of art, sculptures and art toy collectibles.
Besides boosting the profile of local and regional artists,
Zinc will also host key international exhibitions annually.
The team includes Tong Chee Wei (managing director),

Dragged her to Daiso, where i bought lots of new colourful crap to play with in Bali next week,

I’m gonna go lie down for a while cos i had very little sleep last night (thanks to Rahul and Hans. Let’s just say i woke up this morning with chewing gum on my face. Highly unattractive.)

Will be blogging about our Jakarta trip in chronological order so i don’t confuse myself!
It was my first time traveling with ClaudiaOnCrack or MaintainMing,
and i felt like we were a dysfunctional family (Daddy = Ming, Mummy = Me, Kid = Claudia, obviously -_-) who also paraded as a traveling zoo,
cos so many people were staring at us constantly from the moment we reached the airport,
to all around Jakarta,
to returning back home.
![]()
From the beginning, i felt like i was Claudia’s legal guardian or something,
cos her mum willingly let her go on the trip when she said i was going too.
Stress.
At the airport in KL, i turned around for TWO SECONDS and when i turned back,
Claudia HAD DISAPPEARED.
I swear this is the closest i have felt to losing a child,
and tried not to look too frantic,
when WALA.
She suddenly pops out from nowhere. ![]()
“Where did you go? Oh my god, thought i lost you..!” i screeched.
“I just went over there…” she said with big innocent eyes.
MaintainMing: Did your mother lose you a lot when you were young?
ClaudiaOnCrack: Oh! All the time! ![]()
Me: 0_o … Die.
Ming: 0_o
Me: We really should have bought one of those child leashes for this trip…

Getting a hang of the rupiah conversion in the hotel room.
Currently, 100,000 Rupiah = RM35.

I simply guessed out loud that MaintainMing brought more make up than ClaudiaOnCrack and i combined,
and i don’t think i was wrong…

ClaudiaOnCrack doodling her love for MJ in her moleskine.

We stumbled into this place called Casa in Kemang.
Had a great bookstore downstairs, along with a shop selling Nooka and Vivienne Westwood for Melissa stuff.

We just hung out over Heinekens (roughly RM10 a bottle there! So cheap compared to P2’s RM18+15%tax per bottle in KL -_-)
before going home to sleep.
‘Twas interesting sleeping with Claudia and Ming…
I woke up a few times in between sleep,
and noticed that Claudia stays in the SAME position all night – lying on her side smiling in her sleep like a Disney princess.
Seriously.
She smiles like such a sweet child in her sleep, you’d think she’s having the most amazing dreams (which she usually does).
Ming, on the other hand, sleeps like what i’d like to call a cartoon dinosaur.
He tosses, turns, sleeps on his tummy, turns unto his back, paws in air,
while snoring in different tempos throughout the night.
It’s damn cute, with some variations of grunts and scratching. ![]()
(sorry if i make your saham jatuh here, lemme know and i’ll remove ok :p)
On Wednesday, we decided to potter about town and check out Mangga Dua for cheap shopping.
Most of our diet during the whole trip consisted of nasi padang + teh botol
So sedap ok their nasi padang… we told ourselves confirmed we’ll crave it when we’re back in KL!
Big ass fountain in the middle of Jakarta city
We saw a kiddy area in Grand Indonesia mall, and ClaudiaOnCrack and i were sorely disapointed that they wouldn’t let us in unless we were to chaperone a kid.
We went on to say how life is unfair, and people are being ageist cos there should be nothing wrong with adults wanting to play in kiddy areas ![]()
Then we plotted on how to ‘borrow’ a kid.
I said maybe we could ask someone nicely.
Ming said he highly doubted anyone would lend people who looked the way we did, a child.
I paused, thought about Ming’s and my mohawks and agreed in disgruntlement.
Armadillo the weirdo tee hee!
Saw some nice McQ, and Alive + Olivia pieces in there.
Hop, skip + a prance.
We get tired so easily -_-
So we went to Starbucks for some pick-me-up caffeine before continuing to Mangga Dua.
Just so happened we bumped into an article by Triski, whom we were scheduled to meet that night.
So many peeps in Jakarta loved MaintainMing’s DIY studded bag.
ClaudiaOnCrack wearing accessories from Kang and Justin Yap, with her Chanel in hand.
Jakarta is as jammed as i remember it.
I swear we spent 20% of our time out in a taxi.
I didn’t really like Mangga Dua.
So many people were asking us to go there (even from my first time in JK)
and maybe it’s because i’m spoilt with nicer and cheaper things in BKK.
A lot of the things there were like the stuff i’d find at any wholesalers place in SEA,
with the exception of a couple of shops.
MaintainMing spotted one first, led us girls there,
and we went a bit mad picking out stuff.
We met Amanda Putri, co-owner of Iconia
She’s not smiling in the picture below, but she’s actually really smiley the whole time we were there.
Girl was working a pose ![]()
Putri chatted to us for a long time, asking us to drop by her other shop (in ITC Kuningan) on Friday for new stock and discounts
![]()
Back at the hotel, us three kept FTV on ALL THE TIME.
Below was when some male models were parading about.
ClaudiaOnCrack and i bought new covers for our Berries in JK
She got yellow, and i got bright pink

Wed night we went to Potato Head to meet Kiki for the first time.
Drinks weren’t cheap, so Claudia and i opted for a bottle of wine to save cost :p
The bill came in a Lion King storybook cover! SUPERLOVE!
Betet aka Albert Judiyanto; and Kiki aka Triski Nuraini
Betet is Art Director for DailyWhatNot.com,
and also has two other sites – albertjudiyanto.com and thisisbetet.blogspot.com
I first knew about Kiki after an article Annisah wrote about her on TIC,
and msged her on FB about us going to Jakarta for The Misshapes.
She contributes to RottenFresh.com, and also has a blog at iloveglam.wordpress.com
Betet and her took us to Donna + Bobi’s house,
where the rest of the Blackout crew were preparing invites for Fri night.
I must say a BIG THANK YOU to Kiki, for being an absolute darling,
introducing us to all her friends from Blackout and making us feel like a part of your group for a few days.
You guys are truly beautiful, and i hope to see you again in KL
or when i’m back in Jakarta <3
After hanging out at the house,
Claudia and i were WELL TIPSY,
and started partying back at the hotel room – playing SalahWrong songs, doing hand puppet shows with our socks, and singing along to Disney songs.
Poor Ming, to be stuck with two girls on Disney crack.
He seemed unperturbed, but i don’t know whether he put on a good front.
:p

So we really did go all the way to Jakarta to party with The Misshapes (and eat lotsa nasi padang and shop
)
They played at Budha Bar last night,
and i thought we’d party, then sleep at 4 before being at the airport at 7am to catch our 8:30am flight.
No.
We partied all night and ended up rushing like zombies, smudged make up and all, to catch our flight.
A few pix from last night before i go pass out.

I wantd to give Leigh something from Malaysia, so i gave her a necklace from Blok On.
After partying, us three found ourselves tumbling into the back of their van (feeling a bit like groupies -_-)
and wondering what we were doing there when we really had a flight to catch… >.<

Outside Burger King waiting for our order. That be MaintainMing’s feet on ClaudiaOnCrack.
You can see my scraped knees, god knows how i got that.
But after effects of a good night, i say!
Poor Geordon really wanted to swim, but nobody was very willing to go in the pool at 6am,
and we had to leave to catch our flight.

It gets bright really early in JK…
OK i cannot tahan, need to rest my aching body some more.
Before i start this post, i just want to say that i’m not being paid to write it.
Yes, i was commissioned to write 2 advertorials for Olympus when they launched the Pen,
and after using it, i fell totally in love with it, but i had to give it back!
At that time, i got wind of another camera brand in the process of possibly endorsing me,
so i thought i’d wait a couple of weeks and see what happens.
Nothing happened, and my friend in the agency advised me to go for whatever else i had in mind.
So i thought, you know what, i REALLY love the Pen,
and even tho they’re not going to pay me to use it,
it’s such a brill camera i’d be very lucky enough to use it for my blog!
When it comes to camera brands, i’m not utterly devoted to any brand in particular.
I have owned (and still own some) Minolta, Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, Sony and Casio cameras.
So you can see i’m pretty much a camera slut.
I decided that i’d really like to work with the Olympus Pen for my blog,
cos if i genuinely love love love something,
i have no qualms in promoting it for free.
So i wrote a proposal to Kee Nyap, the Olympus GM,
and he was very accommodating and friendly -
meeting up with me for lunch, discussing other possibilities of working with each other,
and granting me my request to sponsor the Pen.
I was over the moon!
Many people have commented how they want to steal the camera off me after playing around with it,
RowdyRudy was practically hugging it in Gili when he realised he too, could take more-than-decent shots!
It’s so convenient that i don’t have to edit my pictures for my blog (save for resizing).
Here’s my FAVOURITE picture (which i’ve made my current FB profile pic) taken with my Pen.
![]()
Taken in Gili, Bali.
Can you see my Circle of Peace i’m holding up at the sun’s centre?

DarlingDhanya was telling me about this hooha – how she (as the winner of 50 Gorgeous Ppl) was supposed to be on the cover of Female with the male winner as well (it was part of the prize wut); but how they retracted and gave excuses for it.
Then BubblyBel also happened to tell us how she blocked a date for the cover of Female Brides and they canceled on her without rescheduling.
I won’t go into detail la… not my story to tell.
But i just felt horrible for them.
You can ask them about it for full story.

I was to go to Teeq and Rootz @ Lot 10 rooftop for QueenKanch’s early birthday celebration,
and dragged DarlingDhanya along with me.

She be so sweet, she bought 2 Othellos from Cupcake Chic for her.
One of which, i drunkardly stole from Kanch later on that night.
Sorry Kanchy… >.< I felt quite guilty this morning!

On our way into Teeq,
DarlingDhanya and i bumped into Joseph Teoh (Marketing Manager for Gardens) and Kenneth Goh (Harper’s Bazaar Fashion Director).
Kenneth gave me a head-to-toe glance, and commented, “You look great!” while nodding,
and Joseph voicing out in agreement.
“Thanks!” i replied brightly.
In actual fact *imagine cartoon version of me in my head going:*
“HAMYGAD! KENNETH GOH JUST SAID I LOOK GREAT! BLESS!”
Yes, the little fangirl that i am. At least i tau maintain :p

In the restaurant, the other girls had bubbly, whereas i went for a bottle of red.
For myself.
I think i overestimated how long we’d be sitting there,
so i did share a couple of glasses with them :p
I know a bottle sounds a lot, but it comes down to 5 glasses okay!
And 5 – 2 = 3, so i only had 3 glasses!
Or maybe 4.

More pictures after the jump!
Thanks to AshleyTheMonkey for all the party pix:

Someone once told me that white spots you find in your night pictures are spirits…
I don’t know how true that is..!

I think i’m watching too much ANTM to start mumbling about it on alcohol!

Looks like Brian’s playing an air guitar ![]()
And Kanch… is hugging her imaginary friend Priscilla.

Halfway thru the night, Kanch and i went outside (god knows for what)
and started stumbling and giggling about how much fun we’ll have in Bangkok in December.

so i CANNOT WAIT to corrupt her further ehehehehehe!

Happy Birthday Kanchy ![]()

I met up with my old school friend Yishyene this morning,
as i’d invited her to come with me for MIFW.
She’s been working in London for the past 2 years and is back for hols.
Seeing she’s been to some shows at London Fashion Week and well, loves fashion,
i figured she’d enjoy it.
Oh, Yishyene…
I’m SORRY i invited you for a 4-hour show!!!
Justin’s very proud of his eco-friendly shoes from Spain,
with heels made from recycled tyres.
A fashion disaster sitting in front of us…
i was so so tempted to ask permission to betulkan it for her…
but didn’t in the end.
My fashion conscience is weighing down on me now.
We waited for an hour before the show started.
AN HOUR.
I wish i had gone for coffee before that then!
I know night shows confirmed will start late, but tak sangka morning one will start that late too.

Rant:
As i walked up to Grandmama’s restaurant for lunch,
I brewed over the day’s show.
And got more and more upset and pissed the more i thought about it.
The show was SUCH a mix of great and bad design,
that the bad unfortunately over shone the rest.
So many of the young designers who showed fantastic work last year didn’t show this year.
Why?
I asked some of them and the answers were all around the same:
- they couldn’t afford to
- MIFW doesn’t really support them
- they don’t want to part of such an organisation after previous encounters
The ones who could afford to (despite not being actual designers) were chucked in alongside other passionate designers.
It just made the whole show look so messy.
I can’t believe people had to sit thru and watch a so-called fashion show on some jewelry that looked like it could have come from the pasar malam (pasar malam description courtesy of Yishyene)
There was no original design to it, and the overall presentation was terrible.
Just because people have money to pay to partake in the fashion show, you let them?
What about quality? What about real passion for design and fashion?
You could easily tell that some of the designs that floated down the runway were amateur,
and were only up there because some people had the money.
Yes, life is unfair.
Yes, MIFW is business, and at the end of the day, it’s about money.
And yes, i feel heartache that the young designers who are capable of flaunting new ideas and taking bigger fashion chances can’t present their ideas to a larger audience.
I would have loved to see a more organized set of designers put in a show,
and not a rojak of great + bad design.
In one sentence:
I FELT ASHAMED to bring my friend who’s attended London Fashion Week to MIFW!
.
Justin invited me to attend the MIFW “Fall Into Style” Opening Night with him,
and i said “Okay!” along with him dressing me in one of his Fall/Winter pieces.
Fashion blogger temaning fashion designer to opening of fashion week, dressed in one of his designs…
So cliche right? ![]()
I went for a fitting with him last week,
and the dress was JUST nice (with almost no room for me to breathe).
We didn’t have time to meet up after alteration (which was to make it slightly shorter at the waist cos i ees no model height -_- DAMN these model-sized dresses!),
so we planned to meet at Eleanor’s boutique for me to get ready there.
Today, i called him and said: “I’m sorry… but since last week, i’ve been eating like it’s a buffet every day..!”
“… Maybe you should bring an extra dress in case…”
“Wah gonna make me cry!”
Joyce is Starving Model, fail.

Justin more worried about his make up than me -_-
I was secretly apprehensive when i zipped the dress up,
and luckily it was still okay!
But i had to sit up straight while driving,
holding my drink,
and basically the entire night.
I tried pretending it was a back brace, a couture one, that is.

: : Edit : :
Decided to add Maggie Abang Saufi’s tweets regarding tonight cos she ranted so much :p
.
“How was it?” asked RowdyRudy
“It was disappointing. I can’t believe i had to pay money to watch that.”
“OH MY GOD. You must be the ONLY person i know who did not say it’s amazing!”
“… I’m serious ok. Maybe everyone’s blinded cos he’s dead, and anything they show about him is great now.”
I’m not trying to be kurang ajar, but it’s true!
I knew it was going to be behind-the-scene rehearsal shots,
and maybe i was expecting more narration to it.
Maybe i was expecting too much,
maybe i got overexcited.
I AM such a huge MJ fan (as are half the people on this planet),
and even cried when i knew he’d passed on.
I’m not saying i’d rather not see those behind-the-scene shots,
of course i wanted to!
There were so many thoughts running through my head as i watched it:
How he could still pull smooth dance moves at his age
How he was ahead of fashion and influencing architectural shoulders and military jackets
How fab the dancers look and how, perhaps, i should have pursued dancing (crazy thoughts, see)
How fantastic and creative the direction for the concert woulda shoulda coulda been
How sad it is that nobody got to experience his last concert save for the team rehearsing
I just don’t think those rehearsal clips can justify being on the big screen…
It seems more suited on home video or something.
Kinda obvious that Sony is making hell alot of money from MJ fans out there and milking it for all it’s worth after his death.
Ironic how when the show ended, i thought, “That’s it?”
And almost laughed out loud at myself, before sighing from disappointment ![]()
Well, that’s my tuppence ’bout it anyway.

for the environment against CO2.
Since he’s returned to Copenhagen from traveling the world for a year,
he’s back to working on creative projects,
and asked me to share with all of you I do 30 -
an environmental campaign that encourages people across the world
to turn down the temperature on their laundry to save CO2.
It’s started in Denmark by the bioinovation company Novozymes,
who creates the enzymes that makes low temperature washing possible.
I do 30 is about turning down the heat on our washing machines
while turning up the heat on those decision makers who can help give us a lot more climate friendly choices in our daily lives.
I know many of us in Malaysia memang use cold water for our machines,
but they’re trying to get as many people as possible to join their Facebook page Facebook.com/ido30 before the UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen this December
so that they can show the world’s leaders that we demand more climate-friendly choices.
The campaign is run on different social media platforms, so you can watch
I do 30 videos on youtube.com/user/IDO30org,

I quite liked the double-toned clutches.
But knowing me, i’m awfully clumsy and tend to drop my clutch,
PLUS it’s super difficult maneuvering a clutch + drink + camera at events!

Fierce booties with straps across the front…

Tiny studs on the toecap of the shoes! ARGH so nice!

I thought this bib necklace would fare really well with my current hairstyle!

Boots that i really liked, but didn’t fit me well at the calf area.
And i know (from many previous purchases) that it’s pointless to buy something just because i like it.
Cos more often than not, i end up wearing it twice,

and now it’s a really trippy view of dogs and quirky objects
(while Feist’s My Moon My Man plays, brownie points!):
Some of my FAVOURITE items from their FW collection!
Can imagine kicking ass at an event or Barsonic in these shiny babies!

Am SO tempted to get this, just in case i don’t have kickass wellies to rock up in a muddy concert one day!
Hunter boots would be ideal, but seeing i can’t get those in Msia,
these would suffice too!

Decisions had to be made between this bag and some shoes.
Tough decisions aiyiyi!

Check out the fabric cuffs…
and the bangles with embedded embroidery…
and the fluoro animal print ones…
*wants them ALL*
Can’t say no to fur, feather, and fringe…
In the end i went with these two pairs of shoes:
Which i’ve been wearing incessantly…
But it was SO difficult to pick!
I REALLY WANT THEM ALL!
.
Interesting tidbit i picked up from today’s dinner outing.
One of my close friends (she asked to remain anonymous) is good friends with one of Beyonce’s musicians,
and apparently KL was NEVER slotted in their tour schedule.
(I heard that KL wasn’t noted on her official website tour schedule, but most thought maybe it was an oversight on their part.)
The conversation between her and said musician friend went like this -
Friend: Hey, why didn’t you tell me Beyonce was coming to KL/gonna cancel her show!
Musician: Of course i would have told you if i was coming on tour there… KL was never even on our schedule!
Hmm.
Interesting ey.
At dinner, we went on to discuss what that meant…
+ + +
Something i picked up on Twitter just now,
the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are gonna perform in Singapore Jan 12th, 2010!
ARGHHHHHHHHHH
I’ve danced to their entire album from beginning to end like a maniac in Bali before.
On a massage bed in the villa garden, while playing air guitar, no less.
Here’s one i headbang to alone in my room, pretending i’m a rock star:
Here’s one that i listen to a lot when i sendiri emo:
One of their newer songs that SarChan and i play for our SalahWrong sets:
i love the way she dances alone in the world, with the world as her playground.
And the scene in the supermarket…
disturbingly reminds me of something i might have done before.
I think January will be a SWEET month for me to visit my brother in Singapore…
because i can crash there for free miss him SO MUCH!
Freaking. Perfect!
So Nick, if you’re reading this,
I’M COMING TO STAY WITH YOU IN JANUARY.
This is gonna be a post with random pictures okay!

Do you ever have that feeling that certain events are meant to be?
Not coincidences, but pure ‘aligned with the universe’ kinda shit
I was thinking this due to a few people that i’ve been talking to the past month
1 month ago, i was still in my full-time job,
and coming around the bend to a new phase in my life
which is uncertain but one i’m very excited about.
And there were wonderful coincidences
- how i spoke to a few people regarding traveling and finding one’s self in life.
So wonderful, i wouldn’t call them coincidences at all.
I say it was aligned in the Universe
First of all, none of these people are close to me.
And i barely bump into them,
and yet with each and every one of them,
i managed to have drawn out conversations thru which i gleaned lots of information,
with each of THEM telling me (individually) that it was meant to be too!
First was Yan.
Now Yan be the jet-setter we all envy.
Every time i see her, she’s wearing something from Louboutin,
or has just got back from Italy/Australia/Russia (u know what i mean).
I bumped into her at the airport in Bali.
She recognized my tattoo from my back,
and happened to be standing RIGHT behind me as we were boarding the plane!
We chatted for a few minutes, and promised to catch up in KL.
Which we did, and which is rare for me…
because i rarely meet up with people i’m not close to.
I usually put aside hang-out time to people i’m accustomed to,
not to mention so many friends i want to layan!
But we met up one Sat afternoon
(she even drove all the way from Ampang for which i’m grateful)
sat down for a few hours over coffee,
and spoke to me about her experiences with
enlightenment, meditation, chakra, reiki, healing,
where she’s planning to travel to next,
and a retreat she’s planning to work on.
I was blown away by how much time and energy she devotes to
worshiping and treating her body the right way,
and asked many questions on the courses she takes.
At Chic POP Street Market,
i made friends with Ade, one of the vendors there.
She told me about the 4-month sabbatical she took from work,
and how she went on a 21-day journey down the Silk Road.
Me having the wanderlust i do,
took great interest and asked her SO many questions on how, where,
how much, how long, etc; to which she answered very patiently.
From there, she referred me a book to read
“The Monk who Sold his Ferrari”
saying the book came into her life at the right time,
and how it was the right time for it to come into mine.
Also at the event,
I had my aura read by Selvie
Despite always having an interest and strong belief in the subject,
i never pursued a reading.
It happened to be there, so i tried it out.
So many things distracted my session.
The first three times i sat down, i had to run off -
vendor problem, tv crew interview session, etc.
By the time i sat down and said “Ok, i’m ready. >.<”
Selvie just smiled at me and asked me to relax.
I had to sit there with hands on my knees and relax for what seemed like ten minutes.
Then she started talking.
I’ll skip all the other details, but go into something she spoke about,
that had much to do with my unexplainable desire to travel.
She said i had a lot of dark pressure on me signifying change,
and asked whether there was to be a big change in my life.
I said yes, i’m about to leave my job.
What are you going to do? she asked.
I’m going to travel more, i said simply.
She kept quiet for a while with her eyes closed and fluttering lightly at times,
i just kept silent too, waiting.
You’re not just going on a holiday, she said.
You won’t be visiting those places like a tourist…
I was a bit taken aback, cos i did say i was going to travel,
but i didn’t say that i wanted to travel for extended periods of time,
which is what she launched into.
She continued: Rather, it’s a journey to look for something/one.
I see a very strong connection from you to someone else thru the spirit world,
and that is calling you to go out.
The journey that you’re about to make is a very special one.
This lifetime of yours is to take this journey,
and to heal yourself from past lifetimes that you should forget about.
And to find this person you’re supposed to meet in this lifetime.
I know i sound crazy… but she made sense to me.
I’ve blogged before, that “i feel like i’m looking for something, but i don’t know what.”
and
“A part of my spirit seems to have taken a holiday
And i don’t know where it’s gone.”
After the reading and cleansing,
i continued running around Chic POP,
and told Adrian the whole story on why the aura reader said i left Freeform
(to which, i swear, he looked back at me with mouth hanging half open,
not knowing how to respond to ex-employee who had lost her marbles)
Four days after Chic POP, i spoke to Jasmine.
I knew Jasmine from BAT days, but never really spoke to her alone before.
I happened to bump into her at the Cut Above event,
and spent over an hour talking about energy and healing as well.
And over an hour talking to one person at an event is considered very long!
I learnt more about sound healing (cos i told her i got a voucher for it),
what it helps with,
and other things i should try.
She helped me with so many things, and upon thanking her,
she merely said, “It’s meant to be. I was meant to bump into you today.”
All in all…
I just thought it’s so STRANGE how i never talk to people about these sort of things,
and at a time of my life i feel i want to travel for some soul-searching,
meeting all these people just came into line as if planned out for me.
Most of my close friends are not into this,
so it’s hard for me to talk about it with someone.
So i guess this note is just to share that…
every thing does happen for a reason,
and they all happen at the time they’re supposed to.
Whether it’s a bad thing that we should take as a lesson,
or a good thing that we then take as blessings.
A few weeks back, AhHoong asked whether anyone was free to teman him down to JB for the Recharge gig.
Seeing i’m free, i said OK! ![]()
We left on Friday afternoon, right after an interview Jezmine, Eka and i had with NST
Oh before i go into my post bout Johor,
there was this incident when journalist Syida was asking us about fashion faux pas.
One that i mentioned was Crocs.
She asked why, and i launched into:
- how i think it’s one of the ugliest shoes ever made
- it’s form over function when it comes to crocs
- how it doesn’t flatter any body type in any form whatsoever
- i’d rather eat babies than wear crocs
Ok i didn’t say the last line but you know what i mean la.
Eka joined me on our vehement dislike for Crocs…
at which at the end of it, Syida said, “I have 3 pairs of Crocs.”
*cricket silence*
I turned to Eka and muttered, “We’re going to have the worst write up ever!”
![]()
Eep >.<
Anyway, after interview + shoot, i rushed thru Friday prayer traffic,
packed in 7 minutes, and jumped into AhHoong’s Harrier.
ConHan decided to join last minute too.
AhHoong was wearing these pair of shoes called ALIFE
“What’s Alife? Never heard of it before… but it must be cool if you’re wearing them
“
“Can’t get from here,” he said matter-of-factly
Street label whore ![]()
We crashed AhHoong’s room at Mutiara
and i unbashedly admit that i was excited about having train tracks as our room view
“Okay, now we KNOW we’re in Johor!”
ConHan + AhHoong, dinner time
Recharge was at a club which name i just cannot remember
But i do remember the name was so jeng it made me laugh :p
I was quite impressed with the crowd tho…
some people were wearing Bass Agents caps and jackets and stuff.
Me: Wahhh… I osowan to make Kinkybluefairy merchandise!

Harri aka Proteus taking to the decks after the Bass Agents
me, Kylie=Trouble emceed the event, AhHoong/DozyDidjital
Have met Kylie=Trouble thru NurMeiLing before,
and must say that after spending the whole night yapping to her,
i easily came up with the name Kylie=Trouble for her.
Cos the woman is trouble. In a good way ![]()
(Disclaimer: depends what you see as good)
It’s been damn long since i’ve had to layan hard dance…
and although had heaps fun at the event,
must admit that at end of the night i told the boys i couldn’t take it,
and i had to play my happy music back in the hotel room.
Which i did.
Played Submarines, Florence & The Machine, Ting Tings, Temptations,
Amina, Temper Trap and whole bunch of others.
So now you know, after the Bass Agents spin their hard dance,
they kena forced to listen to fairy music HAHA
Next day, i took the guys to Roost Cafe which i’d been to before.
Yay for Google Maps on the Berry.
We’d never have been able to find it that fast otherwise.

During lunch, they asked Harri about all sorts of topics in Finland
Wedding la (cos he’s getting married)
Weather
Underground dance scene
Religion
AhHoong to me: You stopped going to church? What happened?
“Barcode happened,” i joked.
+ + + + +
I went to the Blue Cube outlet @ The Curve the other day to activate my xpax line.

So hard to miss, it’s right next to MPH on the 1st floor

Very friendly and efficient Ben who helped me sort everything out.
I can be such a dunce at these things, so i just passed the phone to him and let him do everything.
All i had to do was decide which prepaid package i wanted to go for.
Instead of the RM1 a day package, i opted for RM2.50 a day,
so i can get my push mail as well (which is highly important for me!).
So after some simple calculation, it comes up to roughly RM75 a month,
for unlimited data.

Just 2 weeks ago, I watched Coco Before Chanel,
a movie starring Audrey Tatou that told the story of the painful childhood and the rise of the legendary brand that is Chanel.

Ever since reading about it online, I’ve been waiting for it to hit the dvd stores.
and it was truly an eye-opener for me into the world of Chanel.
Just the name itself brings immediate thoughts of luxury, class and prestige.
Anybody in the world with the slightest interest in fashion knows the name Chanel,
not to mention dozens of others who don’t even have an interest in the fashion powerhouses that exist in the world.
Some may think of the iconic Chanel No. 5 fragrance first
a perfume so iconic its top secret recipe has stayed the same for decades, and a bottle sold every 60 seconds worldwide!
Heck, even *i* had a bottle given to me as a present when i was in my late teens.
Even its bottle design was ahead of its time,
opting for sharp angles when organic art nouveau curves were all the rage then.
Another object strongly tied in with Chanel is the legendary Chanel 2.55 bag -
the 2.55 takes its name from the year of its birth, February 1955.
I swear to God, ever since i’ve been friends with QueenKanch,
i’ve never heard her revere any bag as much as the Chanel 2.55.
She’s done it so frequently with so much vehemence that it’s drilled into my sub-consciousness after 6 years.
“As long as you have your Chanel bag, you don’t need anything else. You can walk out in your pajamas but as long as you have that bag, you’ll look fine,” states Kanch as matter-of-factly as stating the ten commandments.
“Oohkay Kanch,” Ashley and i would reply.
“I’m telling you okay. When i save my first thousands, i’m buying that Chanel bag.”
Even ClaudiaOnCrack has two which she used to sling to work every day
(except when she was going for a crazy night out “cos i’m so scared i’ll burn it!”)
When i was in Singapore for NIN, Van had this limited edition version of the Chanel 2.55 which i admired on the table.
Of course, i was even kinda scared to touch it cos it’s worth half my car of something like that.
For most of us, a Chanel bag is out of reach due to its extravagant price range.
With bags going for at least RM3,000 each; some resort to buying fakes (which i abhore)
If you can’t afford it, don’t pretend to be able to.
I think the satisfaction of owning a Chanel item comes with the knowledge that its genuine and you sacrificed for it!
For those of you who can’t wait, you don’t have to DIY your own Chanel bag like so:

(This was circulating the fashion blogosphere for awhile a few months ago
)
Just recently, Chanel released its Coco Cocoon collection -
a more affordable range of Chanel bags and accessories.
With a campaign fronted by super popstar Lily Allen (i heart her!),
the Coco Cocoon line is shown exuding chic practicality at a price that doesn’t tear our heart (and wallets).
Here, Lily carries a Coco Cocoon bowling bag in leather,
while wearing a suit in tweeded gauze with matching cuffs in off-white chiffon from Chanel FW 09/10
Coco Cocoon tote bag in nylon + Coco Cocoon bowling bag in nylon
This is my favourite of the lot – the Coco Cocoon bowling bag in quilted leather.
Karl Lagerfeld has designed several different sizes and models,
and the result is a modern bag that is perfect for urban use or even when traveling.
With the lightweight shopping bag - be it in the mini or maxi version, the bowling bag or trolley bag -
there is a Coco Cocoon bag for every occasion and lifestyle.
Mademoiselle Chanel declared that, “True luxury is when something is beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside.”
In honour of her statement, some of the Coco Cocoon models are reversible.
When turned inside out, the bags reveal the characteristic Chanel quilting.
Its iconic double C logo is engraved on leather in matching tones,
and keeps a low profile nestling under the zip of the front pocket.
The Coco Cocoon line has been designed in the pure tradition of Chanel luxury,
with flat pockets, practical fastenings and clever details in elegant craftsmanship.
Now available in Chanel boutiques,
the bags are available in black, beige, chocolate, burgundy, taupe, blue, grey, gold and red;
in nylon or washed lambskin.

Cos not only do i end up wasting time, ![]()
being late, ![]()
and getting frustrated, ![]()
i also end up looking like your typical female who loses her way… ![]()
which i hate! ![]()
One of the first programs i dl-ed into my BlackBerry Curve was Google Maps,
and i was (being the jakun i am with new things) amazed at how precise it could be with directions!
When i first got it dl-ed,
i tried it out at a cafe while waiting for someone.

It give me distance, estimated time to reach,
and directions!

Besides driving directions, it gives directions for pedestrians too ![]()
I didn’t try it in KL (cos not like ppl actually walk here)
but i did try it in Bali,
while RowdyRudy and i were walking a short distance from where we stayed in Kuta to Jalan Benesari.
(Too bad i didn’t take a picture of it but anyway)
I showed Rudy the map and where we should walk, along with blinking spot showing our exact location.
“Wow. That IS cool!”
Me: ![]()
And that.
Is how i shall never get lost again.

I guess partying for 4 nights in a row really got to me!
My throat started hurting when i went to sleep last night,
and by noon today,
i spoke like a full-blown man.
I had 3 meetings lined up back-to-back this afternoon,
but rescheduled them all.
No choice la.
I can’t even talk to myself without hurting,
let alone talk to people.
Been camping out with all my medication next to me,
lots of water,
and geeking out on the first season of Fringe.
I’m loving it so far!
Didn’t get recommended it by friends,
I’s just browsing in the dvd store one day,
read the synopsis that it’s about paranormal activity,
and my old attraction to subjects that walk just outside the border of science reignited.
I think if you liked the X-Files in the early 90s,
you should give this a shot.
Warning: It’s continuous so you don’t wanna stop watching.
Oh, and did i mention i love having lots of pei cough mixture given to me?
![]()
I’m seeing the doctor again on Thursday reg. the skin condition on my arm.
I wonder whether he’d be suspicious if i asked for another bottle >.<
