As a child I dreamed of visiting Australia and New Zealand. Today I'm in my early 40's and have never set foot on foreign soil! So, I'm still dreaming. lol If only I'd won that 600 million dollar Powerball!

My husband has a friend from college who is from New Zealand. He met an American girl who was studying there, married her and then followed her back to the U.S. That was a couple decades ago and they are still here! Guess he likes the good 'ol USA! Still, he must miss the beautiful beaches of New Zealand, not to mention his family. I can't even imagine living so far away from my childhood home!

If I were planning a trip to New Zealand, I'd need to plan for air travel from my home to the coast, then from the coast to New Zealand. Talk about a long trip! I really don't have the budget or flexibility for travel at this point in my life, but planning out a trip could still be fun. It's sorta like window shopping, but without actually going anywhere!

I think it would be fun researching hotels, attractions, beaches, and the people of New Zealand. The best way to get to know a country is to experience it the way it's citizens do! I'd probably rent a car and do a lot of exploring.  Car Rental Auckland Airport is probably where I'd first look to pick up some wheels. I'd want to find something fuel efficient and reliable. If I were more daring and adventurous, I might even look at a motorcycle in New Zealand. It would be a great way to get around, using very little gas. If I weren't such a chicken or afraid of getting rained on that is!

What if I were wanting to live in New Zealand? Maybe for a few years? I'd then have to look at homes! Financing a home in New Zealand would be quite a journey in and of itself. I imagine financing a home there looks different than financing in the US. Just a guess!

In any case, I don't have any real plans to travel at the moment. Some day I'd like to take that dream vacation to Australia and New Zealand. I'd also love to travel through Western Europe, Israel, and Canada. My guess is a trip to Canada will come first! lol

Today's news coverage out of Oklahoma is nothing short of shocking and heartbreaking. We are praying for everyone affected by the tragic loss and devastation in America's heartland.

Life is a precious gift, we shouldn't take one minute for granted. Kiss and hold your children tight tonight and remind them they are dearly loved. Pray for those who have lost, especially those who have lost loved ones. Most especially those who have lost children. My heart is full for those grieving tonight.

So this is all new to me, but apparently everyday Joes and JoAnns like you and I can video chat with  celebrities (and yet to be discovered talent) on Celebstir. Wow, and I thought Twitter was cool! This is a growing community, so you may or may not find exactly who you are looking for today, but the site has promise. In time, it could be a pretty hoping portal for engaging in real discussion with your favorite celebrities, or meeting new and upcoming talent.

I also couldn't help but notice there are contests running over at Celebstir. You can earn "cash, gifts, and exposure" by competing in business promoted contests. Nice! Everyone who knows me well knows I love a good contest. I've won a few giveaways over the years and intend to win a few more! We all want a little attention right? Businesses are no different. They know a good giveaway or contest is more than enough to get people talking about their services/products and that kind of exposure is always positive!

What if you're not really looking to follow anyone, but need people to follow you? Not a problem. At Celebstir you not only have the option to follow and chat with all sorts of fascinating people, but you can gain followers... and potentially a bit of priceless attention. Maybe you're looking for a little shameless exposure for your blog, business, or talent? If you're trying to build your presence on the web, Celebstir could be your new best friend. It's just one more foot in the door. You're likely already on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube... what do you have to lose with Celebstir? Whether you're a tattoo artist, a journalist, or vlogger, you'll fit right in.

Pop on over and tell me what you think? Will you be joining? What is it you want the world to discover about you?

I am pretty clean cut and have never been in any trouble with the law. Additionally, no one in my immediate family has had run ins with the law. I guess we are a pretty boring brew... not that I'm complaining. The only time I ever think about the need for a good criminal lawyer is when I'm watching Nancy Grace, or an episode of Perry Mason. It all seems so very Hollywood and news magazine to me... rather than a true to life experience or possibility. At least not for me!

I do appreciate however that people make mistakes. And then there are those unfortunate souls who get charged with crimes they did not commit. There will always be a need for qualified criminal attorneys. I believe even the guilty are entitled to competent legal representation. We should all have equal access to a fair trial and I'd hate to live in a country where this wasn't the case.

If you are looking for a criminal lawyer in Raleigh, you may want to do a google search for Criminal Lawyer Raleigh.

Have you ever had to seek out a criminal lawyer? Either for yourself or for someone you love? I imagine it's an extremely desperate and scary situation. I know if it were one of my own children who needed legal council I'd want the very best lawyer my dollar could afford.

There are dozens of summer programs for children... scouting camps, sporting camps, Bible camps, summer school classes, driver's education for our teens, maybe gymnastics or swimming lessons, but what about tapping into your child's creative side?

Have you considered cake decorating classes? Many hobby stores offer classes to adults and some even have workshops for children. It's worth looking into! If you cannot find a hobby store offering classes, do an Internet search or ask someone who dabbles in cake decorating to give a few lessons. Kids love to decorate cakes and cookies, and this is one activity you can enjoy together!

If you run short and can't find anyone willing to take on your youngster for a class, take the class yourself and bring that knowledge home with you! Buy a starter decorating kit from Wilton and teach your children how to make basic flowers, leaves, and stems. Let them play with shell boarders or create a design all their own.

Whatever you decide to do, have an amazing summer with your kiddos...
go make some memories together!

When I was 29 and 6 months pregnant with my first child, I was sandwiched between two cars on a busy interstate highway while on my way to work. It was a rainy morning and the streets where slick with a mix of oil and water... common after a dry spell.  I remember being hit from behind twice. The second time I was struck I was turned in my seat, trying to look out my back window to access what had just happened. Being hit from behind in that awkward position with my torso twisted was just as big a jolt as the first hit, but it was that second strike that I felt in my back. It was the jolt that sent me to the hospital for an overnight observation.

I ended up being just fine, as did my son, but I had numerous people telling me to go to a chiropractor. Back then I was terrified of chiropractic medicine. So, I never went! I figured it wouldn't be safe to go while pregnant and once my son was born I put it completely out of my mind. Since then, I've lost my fear of chiropractors and have a great admiration and appreciation for the amazing things they can do... and undo!

Can I just share with everyone that after my accident I had back, neck, and shoulder pain for weeks?  My doctor told me it was impossible to know if that pain was from the accident or from being pregnant, but I could definitely tell the difference.

If you've been in a motor vehicle accident and are looking for a chiropractor in the Jacksonville area, you may want to google: Chiropractor Jacksonville Fl

I've never visited Canada and haven't looked at real estate outside the USA, but I'm currently examining Calgary real estate online at Cliffstevenson.com. Our family has been known to search out properties close to home from time to time... as we'd like to upgrade someday soon. We're running out of room in what was supposed to be our starter home. That was 12 years ago! So, I'm no stranger to real estate websites.

I like the Cliffstevenson.com's website. It's clean and easy to navigate and you can get to know their individual Realtors on the Calgary real estate agents page. The website offers searching by MLS, map, or you can view everything currently listed. The site isn't overly busy, presenting you with only what you need to know concerning available properties.

Are you in Canada? What do you like about Cliffstevenson.com's website?

We are all looking for ways of saving money these days, but not at the sacrifice of technology! Sometimes we overlook basic ways to streamline our budget... like for instance, ditching high-speed Internet access for dial up.

Our household has been accessing high speed Internet access for years now and until today, I didn't even realize dial up still existed. Families like my own, trying to survive on less... can save serious cash simply by changing the way they receive Internet at home. Scrapping dsl for dial up Internet service means slower search results, but if you don't mind waiting longer for your Internet searches, dial up could be a great fit for you.

Years ago we had dial up,  delivered by way of telephone connection (landline) and a modem. I remember it being really slow at times, but I didn't spend nearly as much time online back then. It was a great fit for us. Could it be a good fit for you? There are plans starting at as low as $10 a month (even less if you pay annually). If you’re using your computer for school and/or business and spend a lot of time surfing the web, this option won’t suit you well. For just a few dollars more, you may find a high speed dial-up Internet.

Regardless of where you currently have your Internet service, or how you receive Internet, it never hurts to examine your options. There are so many little things we can do to cut expenses and all those little things add up to some big savings! What do you do to save money?

Graduation and Father's Day are just around the corner. Outdoor sporting equipment, sporting vehicles, and outdoor maintenance equipment are sure ways to thank, congratulate, or celebrate your favorite man. We're talking everything from dirt bikes to lawn edgers.

If I had the funds, I'd get my husband a lawn edger and a recreation vehicle. Two very different gifts and the last thing he'd ever expect from me.  Echo Power Equipment is something I could consider, since Echo makes lawn edgers.

If we lived a little further north, I'd love to own a snowmobile. When I see a one I'm taken back to life as a 3 year old, living in Iowa. I have vivid memories of traveling through the snow with my dad. I remember traveling with a small suitcase behind my seat. We kept losing the suitcase in the snow! It flew off the back of the snowmobile over and over again.

I've always wanted to own a boat too. When we were kids my dad had a motor boat, but we rarely took it out. Later we acquired a canoe. Picture a family of 5 and a large black lab in a Coleman. Would you believe we never once tipped? I don't know if was due to a great canoe or a lot of luck, but even with our Labrador Retriever jumping in and out of that canoe, that boat stayed upright!

If you think you have a legitimate personal injury claim you may want to consider contacting an experienced personal injury lawyer before the statute of limitations passes. Legally, you only have a certain amount of time to file a claim against another party... this amount of time will vary depending on where you live.

I don't have any experience with personal injury claims, but I do know how important they can be. If you are injured outside your own place of residence, you might have a claim. The best way to know for sure it to look for an attorney who will not charge you for an initial consultation, and preferably not collect anything at all unless you win your case.

I don't condone unfounded law-suits. Unfortunately (and shamefully) we have more than our fair share of fraudulent claims in the US. This post is to advice only those with legitimate legal claims. Financial compensation for true injury, possible future loss of income, medical expenses, and physical, possibly emotional trauma may constitute a legitimate cause to consult with an experienced attorney.

If you are looking for a personal injury lawyer and you live in the St. Petersburg Florida area, you may want to search the key words: personal injury lawyer, Florida.

I'm mom to a couple growing sprouts who love to learn. One of my kids is especially interested in science and scours the net looking for science news on a regular basis. If you're like my 12 year old and spend time looking for news on the latest scientific discoveries and observations, you may want to do an Internet search using the keywords: science news 2013.
We also have a love in our home for technology news. While we don't own a lot of the hip new gadgets, we hope to remedy that unfortunate situation one day in the near future. I guess you could say we are in research mode. On our wish list are things like smart phones, iPads, and faster pc's.
What do a lot of techy and science loving individuals also have a love for? Gadgets! Check out Geek Alerts for cool finds from across the blogosphere to satisfy your favorite geeks need for weird and unique. Maybe that geek is you? Finding techy or interesting geek toys doesn't have to be a challenge.

Geek Alerts also offers online coupons to help you save money on unique gifts and must haves.Who doesn't love a good coupon code? I NEVER shop without searching them out and I almost always find what I'm looking for. Save on things like shipping and upgrades, or perhaps save a flat dollar amount or percentage before completing the check-out process.

Are you a bargain hunter? Do you find yourself clipping coupons, scanning the web for great deals, promotions, incentives, and anything free? My favorite part of saving money is finding free products, services, and activities. The best place to look for FREE these days is the Internet.

If you're looking for free products, information, or services online, you might try searching free stuff by mail 2013, which will take you to All Free Samples, a website dedicated to listing anything they can find that's FREE. I found a coupon for a free Snicker's bar from 7-Eleven, a free Samsung Galaxy S II Smartphone, and web hosting service! lol Quite a lot of variety.

They update the site regularly, so you should check often for new offers. Free products and services generally have an expiration or are offered in limited numbers, so the listings you see today could be gone tomorrow.

Maybe it's an online game you're looking for, a new phone service, or sweet treat. You'll even find free travel brochures and free vacation planners for planning that next family vacation or weekend getaway. It's almost that time of year again when millions of families will be making the most of their summers together... and looking for great places to eat, visit, and explore. Who knows what you might find online that's free for the asking?

Eventually in every mom’s life comes the time to talk to her kids about money.  It seems a nerve-wracking occurrence, but with a few handy tips to keep in mind, it actually isn’t that difficult.

One of the easiest ways that kids learn about money and budgeting is by watching their parents.  Even if you aren’t aware of it, they’re retaining a lot of the habits they see in everyday life while being around you.  This is why it’s important that when you’re out shopping – even if it’s just for groceries – you explain to them what you’re doing and why you’re doing it.  Help them understand the logistics behind the purchases being made and why some of them will have to wait for later.

When practicing this easy method, show your kids that money can be saved while also being spent.  If you’re taking them shopping with you, be sure to bring those Ralph Lauren coupons with you and show your kids how much money is being saved.  They’ll more than likely be enthralled that things like pieces of paper can dramatically cut costs on items they want or need and will ingrain in them the desire to use coupons as much as humanly possible.

It’s also a good idea to let your kids watch you as you online shop too, especially since as years go on we are moving to a digital age.  They’ll probably buy most of their things online when they grow older, and they’ll want to know that coupon codes for Ralph Lauren are just as good as paper coupons and can still save them a ton of money.

Just as you keep them informed when you’re spending money, bring them in for a discussion on the money you’re saving.  Many times kids will want something, and when they’re told it’s too expensive at the moment, will become angry because they think their parents are hoarding the finances for themselves.  Show them that even mom has to put some wants on the backburner until money becomes available.  Let them see what you’re trying to procure and how much the item costs.  Explaining to them how much you want it and how much you’re saving to get it in the future will help them see that not only are their parents not just saying no to be difficult, but that they’re practicing what they’re preaching.

There is also an added bonus to doing this.  When kids start to see progress reports and how long it might take to get what they want, they’re probably going to be more inclined to make more money, which means they’re starting to understand the value of a dollar.  This means that they’ll be less likely in the future to waste money and have a clearer view of their own finances.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Vipre for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Are you in need of better internet security? There are several big name antivirus options out there. Perhaps you've tried them and aren't impressed. If you're looking to try an interent security that won't slow down your pc (even when scanning) along with US based technical support VIPRE might be your best bet.

I've been using VIPRE Internet Security for months now on my own pc and just the other day downloaded a free 30-day trial on my daughter's laptop computer. Within seconds of our first scan VIPRE found and quarantined a severe level threat. It also found a medium level threat, and thousands of cookies.  Before downloading VIPRE we had scanned her pc with another antivirus program. That program did report a virus, but was unable to remove it or send it into quarantine. It was immediately obvious to me that VIPRE Internet Security was the superior antivirus program.

If you'd like to try VIPRE without cost or obligation, you can do what I did and download the free 30-day installation. They won't even ask for a credit card... just your email. Within minutes you'll be able to scan your own computer and witness first hand the speed and professional antivirus security program at work. ]

Installation is quick and easy. If you're interested in learning more about VIPRE be sure to visit their website at vipreantivirus.com.

What Internet security or antivirus software have you used in the past? What have your experiences been? How much money have you paid professionals or your IT friends to clean your dirty computer when your current antivirus software failed to protect your pc? I don't think there is an antivirus system that can protect you 100% of the time, but after using VIPRE on my own pc, I do feel it's outperformed any other antivirus program I've used in the past.

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Mrs. Smith's for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
I love to review products... especially when they're edible! When Mrs. Smith invited me to review their new Mrs. Smith's Signature Deep Dish pies the week of Thanksgiving, I couldn't have been more thrilled! Although this brand was new to me, I've rarely met a pie I didn't like. That said, I'd never bought a pie from the frozen foods department.
              MrsSmith.jpg
What makes this review especially exciting for you... the reader is that Mrs. Smith is giving one of you a free pie of your own along with a $50 gift card to William's Sonoma! Just in time for Christmas too! Keep reading to find out how you can enter to win this amazing giveaway opportunity! One randomly selected entrant will recieve a coupon by mail for a free pie, along with a physical gift card to Williams Sonoma for a whopping $50 (not an ecard).
First things first though... let's talk pie shall we?
              ~The Pies~
Signature Deep Dish Dutch Apple Pie with Caramel Sauce
Signature Deep Dish Cherry Pie with Butter Fudge
Signature Deep Dish Pumpkin Pie with Cream Cheese Icing
Signature Deep Dish Peach Pie with Cream Cheese Icing
              ~The Prep~
Super simple. How's that sound? I made these pies the day after Thanksgiving, then transported them to my parent's home some 30 minutes away. They held up well, looked homemade and lit up the faces of everyone I passed as I made my way to my mom's dining room.
The only prep you'll find in baking these pies is lining the bottom of your baking sheet with foil, and if you're baking up the peach, cherry, or apple, you'll want to make a few slits in the crust for venting. Otherwise, all you're doing is unwrapping and popping them into the oven.
When they've cooled and you're ready to serve, you may either drizzle the icings and sauces over the entire pie, or allow your guests to choose whether to drizzle their individual slices.
We left the pies free of sauce/icing, opened the icing packets and placed them open side up in an open glass. Guests then either drizzled or didn't drizzle! It was all good!
              ~The Verdict~
Here you see each of the four pies in ready to eat form. A bit messy... could be the way I cut them,
could be that they were too warm (not that there's anything wrong with that!), but whatever the case may be, they were all delicous! I sampled each pie with and without the sauces/icings and think I prefer them without. The sauces/icings were great, but I didn't think the pie needed anything more. They were delightful without any added flavor. Not everyone agreed with me... some went for the cream cheese icing, some for the butter fudge or caramel sauce. If I had a favorite sauce, it would be the caramel on apple. Pretty good!
Long story shorter... I'd definitely buy this pie. Given the time constraints of working full time and being a mom I see nothing wrong with convenience. Do you? I couldn't make a pie from scratch that tastes any better than these. I do love to bake, but I've never had much luck with baking pies from scratch. The only exception might be the gluten and casien free pumpkin pie I made my son this year. Oh was that ever amazing!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Truvia® Natural Sweetener for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Did you know you can have a sweet tooth without losing the ability to zip up your favorite blue jeans? This is an ongoing battle I'm all too familiar with. I love chocolate cake and brownies, almost any kind of cookie, but my favorite desert of all is a fresh baked cinnamon roll. No wonder I can't lose that 20 extra pounds!

Some say sugar is poison! How could that be? It makes life so much sweeter and who doesn't love baking? Fortunately we live in a world where women can enjoy their favorite sweets, without adding unnessary calories to our diets. Truvia® offers a smiliar taste and texture to sugar, but with 75% fewer calories! It bakes and browns just like the sugar you know and love, and it's all natural! Nothing engineered in a lab... no scary chemicals or mystery ingredients to contend with.

When baking with Truvia® Baking Blend, you replace each 1 cup of sugar called for in your favorite recipe with 1/2 cup of Truvia®. So, it's half of whatever the recipe calls for. Need a good recipe? I'm going to try the carrot cake recipe on the Truvia® website. Doesn't it look divine? I'm adding Truvia® to my shopping list... might give it a try this Thanksgiving!

Visit the Truvia® website for more tips and information on Truvia® Baking Blend and rest assured you can make A LOT of goodies using just 1 bag of Truvia®! Your purchase of a 1.5 lb bag of this sugar alternative will allow you to make as many as 13 traditional sized pies! With 7 cups of Truvia® you'll have enough magic to cover Thanksgiving and Christmas too... assuming you're not feeding a small army!

What is your favorite holiday recipe? How do you think that favorite treat might bake up using Truvia® instead of traditional sugar? Have you ever baked with Truvia®? If so, do share!

Are you a Black Friday shopper? I'm sooo not! lol However, I have found a couple deals online around this time of year. The laptop I'm sharing this from was purchased on a Black Friday special from Toshiba.com. Fact is, Black Friday Deals 2012 aren't restricted to brick and mortar stores! If you enjoy saving money, without facing masses of people, heavy traffic, and potential weather issues, consider what you might find from the comfort of your own dining room table... with just a few clicks of the mouse.
What if you miss the day after Thanksgiving? Oh woe to you! Well, not exactly... truth be told, you have nothing to fear Cyber Monday is here! lol Well, it will be here in just a few days! A few years ago the term Cyber Monday crept into play as yet another day to save scads of money after Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday Sales are all over the web. You might even find some retailers offering them early... just as you've probably seen online retailers offering Black Friday sales before Friday!
The best types of deals to grab up  (most sought after anyway) are techy gadgets and gizmos... those items on everyone's want lists, like iPod's, iPads, e-readers, cell phones, gaming systems, televisions, and of course computers. Find Dell coupons at Best Online Coupons... as well as Dell Outlet and Apple and save yourself some hard earned money!

Who do you still have to shop for? Will you be shopping online as you scope out great savings? What's the best online deal you've ever snagged?
