The House of Lords made the Lisbon Treaty part of UK law when they voted by a majority of 95 to ratify it, despite its rejection in the Irish referendum and doubts whether Poland and Czecholsovakia would go ahead with ratification. The treaty should by now have been scrapped because it must be approved by all 27 EU members.
