The working title is "Destroyer", if you are interested. Its inspired by this video @ 6:40 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rp6-wG5LLqE&
I have been remiss. You faithful listeners and subscribers who come by the campfire, every fire, to hear what I have to say, thank you, and I'm sorry for not checking in sooner. The tired line "lifes been busy" doesnt cut it, because its taking me very little time to write this note -- its just that i havent been sure what to say.
I was going to write a note saying goodbye and that's the end of the campfire, but im not going to. Everytime I wrote the words it felt wrong, like I still had more to say. I think I have needed time away from the campfire to figure out what it was doing for me and what I really wanted to say. So I hope you will understand - a mans gotta do, etc.
So here's where we stand:
1) I will have a podcast when its ready. This may take months, or it may take a day. They will come when they are inspired. So this is not a monthly, weekly, even yearly podcast. This is the alternative to quitting altogether.
2) I have a few casts in the works but Im not exactly sure when they will spring forth (see #1). Working titles "Discount Vanity"; "iRiver Dump"; and "Bell Curve". In addition I have been doing a lot of music stuff, which i guarantee you will be part of the shows as well
3) I have learned never to say never, but this site isnt going anywhere anytime soon. The campfire site is here, and when i get back from my travels in the brambly woods, I'll light it. Hopefully you can stick around.
Thanks ... kb

audio/mpeg (23 300 ko)Hi -
Well, its six months from when I said I would have a new cast in six months. At that time I thought I would be done my tests.
Im not. I've taken 5, passed them all, and have 4 more to take. I passed all the hard ones tho, so im hoping i can bang these remaining ones out.
I do want to repay those who have been waiting patiently for my return, so ill try to take a break from my studies to get a show out in the next few weeks. It will be called "Smallworldland", and im excited to get it out there.
Thanks for listening. I'm fixing a show up for ya.

Hi. Its me again. No new content yet; life's been absolutely nuts for me.
This Architectural Registration Exam is a full-time avocation burner. I have no hobbies. It totally stinks, considering how many ideas and thoughts i want to get out.
Its time to face facts. I was hoping that, between my work and studying, I could get it together enough to churn out some shows. It aint happening. Im just too busy right now.
So: I feel that I owe it to you, my faithful listeners, to say:
I need to do this.
I need 6 months.
Taking the ARE is a 6-month-long process. I will celebrate my passing this important milestone with a vacation and, then, a new series of shows. My wife got me a brand-new high-quality mic for 'casting and I cant wait to use it.
Until then, as usual, I will direct you to Joe Frank (www.joefrank.com), who, with his latest show, "Goodbye," has completely outdone anything I did all year anyway. Listen to the master.
Further, I lied a bit when it said I didnt have any hobbies. I have been painting pictures of things (www.kingbonk.etsy.com) I thought about in my stories (see above). The watercolors only take a matter of hours, rather than the matter of days the podcasts took. I took the Bob Ross episode to heart and now I am painting. Incidentally, I have sold 10-15 of these pieces already, so it has proven to be actually somewhat lucrative. I'll try to update here with new pieces, I lieu of stories, for now.
We'll see you on other other side of the duty at hand. In the words of the great Mike Watt: "Im stuck servin shore duty/ Always seems like there's more duty / Maybe thats the beauty".
See you in 6. If you must go, then, peace be with you, my freinds. Its been great. If you can stay subscribed, who knows what I'll find to do with my freetime, if i find it. I'll be setting up my mic again next month. Lets see what happens.
Thanks again, you all are awesome.

Well. I have no real excuse. Between work deadlines, kids, getting ready for a big ol trip, and then, ultimately, a slight computer breakdown ... i just didnt get to ANYthing podcasty in the last weeks.
Given my first architectural liscensing exam is Jan 19th, I am now ALSO studying my brain out, no time for hobbies. I am noting with my alarm that my brain is not quite as nimble as it was when i was in college - so i gotta kick start my brain. This study/test-taking process is a process that will take many months.
I'll still be doing podcasts, and will absolutely be updating here.
I am on vacation until the new year in the short-term, and the long term is going to be spotty. So while my computer is in the shop, I'm outta commission in the short-term.
That said - it has been a fantastic year doing the King Bonk Campfire Podcast. You faithful listeners have made all of the hours work worth it. As you all probably know, us podcasters are doing this for fun, and life often intervenes. Wish I could get everything in my head out into audio. But I'll say, truly, its been really cool to get to hear from you fans of the show, and really nice to hear how the stories have made you think ... etc.
I will be doing lots of watercoloring, photography and music making when im not podcasting. Curiously I have found similar themes... The big skies in my paintings will, eventually, have storms brewing in them - as soon as i can learn how to paint them.
Sincerely: Thanks for a great year. Have a good, safe time as 2006 ends, and we'll see you on the next side.
Best
King Bonk

Howdy friends. I have two new podcasts coming soon (next few weeks i should think) as seen in the title above. These will be fairly substantial ones, 20 min long or so. so stay tuned/subscribed!! Thanks kb
