TNT© Fireworks is currently seeking Seasonal Merchandisers to set product in area grocery stores.

You would be part of a merchandising team responsible for setting and servicing TNT® products in local grocery stores for the July 2010 promotion; throughout the months of May and June. Stores will require 1 to 2 visits depending on their location and sales volume. Merchandising experience is a plus!!

Merchandisers are paid by the visit; all stores are assigned a specific number of sets and visits per promotion. All Merchandisers must have daily access to email and be familiar with the internet, as well as have the ability to fax.

Qualifications:
Ability to work independently and meet given deadlines
Ability to communicate with TNT® staff and staff at assigned set locations
Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task multiple projects successfully
Ability to walk, bend, squat, kneel, stretch, reach above shoulders, and lift up to 50 pounds.

The following is an overview of the job duties for a Hallmark Retail Merchandiser. If you are selected for the position, you will be assigned a hand-held computer called an INFOLink. This unit serves a couple of purposes. It will track your time worked as well as the activities you perform each day on your service call. At the beginning of each day, you will log in on your INFOLink unit, read all messages and also check your shipment screen. You will then proceed to the Receiving area of the store to see what shipments have arrived. The freight could be just a few boxes or as many as 20 or more, which is typical during busy seasonal times. Some of the boxes can weigh up to 50 lbs each. Product is then taken from the backroom to the Hallmark department to be put out on display.

In the Hallmark Card Department, you will replenish, straighten, and track inventory of the every-day and seasonal greeting cards and specialty items which includes gift wrap, party supplies and other stationery items. With your INFOLink unit, you will scan bar codes on the products to determine product placement, track inventory and determine replenishment needs. You may also have to walk to areas outside of the card department to service other displays in the store. When your work in the department is complete, you will log out of your INFOLink unit.

This position will require you to lift boxes up to 50 lbs as well as stoop, squat, walk and stand for long periods of time. You will need to interact in a professional manner with store employees, store management and customers while in the store. You will have to complete your duties in an efficient and timely manner to stay within the budgeted hours for the store. If your store(s) is being reset or remodeled an occasional evening or weekend may be required.

Upon arriving home, you must transmit the information captured on your INFOLink to report your time worked and the activities you completed on your service call. There are 2 options for the transmission of the data. You will place your INFOLink unit into a cradle that will be provided to you. The cradle must then be connected either to a phone jack that carries analog phone service or an open port on a wireless router that is connected to an Ethernet (high-speed) computer line. Analog phone service is basic telephone service provided by the local telephone company. The transmission cannot be completed through cellular service or through digital service. If you have phone service through an internet provider such as Time Warner, Comcast or Cox, you most likely do not have analog service. You must have one of these two options in your home in order to complete the transmission.

As a Retail Merchandiser for this position, you will be providing service to 2 Kroger stores located in Hardy and Rocky Mount. You will need to provide 2 days of service each week with service being completed on Monday and Friday. Service must be completed in the morning and early afternoon. While hours are not guaranteed, you will typically average 1 - 5 hours per week. You must be available to work the day before and the day after all major card holidays.

Looking for someone flexible wanting part time work with the potential to grow more hours. Service locations are 2 in Roanoke 1 in Lynchburg and 1 in Christiansburg.
Service visits are currently 4hrs. There is an opertunity for more hours overnight when reset crew is in town.
Job Requirements
Able to use a computer to report completed work and navigate the web(windows)
Able to use a camera or PDA if needed to collect pictures or data.
Know how to browse to attach pictures.
know how to read a tape measure for surveying merchandising areas.
Able to read a planogram. (a schematic that shows how displays and merchandise are set.)
