Well it's been a while since I've put anything up on the site - am home in Canada for the holidays and finally have a breather after a whirlwind few months in the UK. To those of you I owe a note (or three), yes, I am notoriously crap, but here's a start...

Things have been really great. Settling in London has been surprisingly smooth and filled with much fun and a few lucky breaks! As luck would have it, a room in my friend Tiff's flat became available just as I landed and as such I have been living in the lovely Richmond ever since. It's located quite close to the biggest park in Europe (Richmond Park) where we have been trying to spend as much time as possible (see pics)! I landed a job with Microsoft as a communications manager and started there in late November. It's been great, quite a learning curve, but lots of fun, although the commute to Reading is offensive. Inhouse is really different from working in a consultancy, but so far so good...I'm really enjoying it.

I've put some more pics of London and a few of Christmas in Canada. Jose, Tommo, Megs et al. - I've put up some shots from the fall when Ross was visiting - some cracking pics - they've been hiding in my laptop, so I thought I'd pop a few up. Ahhh, the memories! :)

Anyway, promise to get better at staying in touch. Hope you are all having lovely holidays. My dear Aussies, enjoy the sunshine. I miss it (and you all) so! :)

Hi all

Another quick note and a few more pics. Having a blast in Nova Scotia! So great to see friends and family and who knew being unemployed and living at home could be so great?! We've been occupying ourselves by making stewed plums and waffles (yum!), hiking and kayaking at the coast near Mum and Dad’s, trying very hard not to shop (err…mixed results there) and drinking heaps of Keith’s (again, mixed results there J ). Getting ready to hop off to London on Thursday evening - more to follow on that front soon...hope you are all well.

On a completely different note, found the most brilliant website the other day – The Word Spy, a site devoted to lexpionage, the apparent sleuthing of new words and phrases. Who knew terms such as adrenaline television, stalkumentary, credit cookie and corporate anorexia existed…? Sigh. Andy, Beth, Caz and Ben – take it away.
