Japan-based semiconductor equipment manufacturers posted a book-to-bill ratio of 1.28 in October 2009, similar to the prior month's level, according to data gathered by the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ). A book-to-bill of 1.28 means that 128 yen worth of new orders was received for every 100 yen of product billed for the month.
