I need someone to build a perl script that extracts data from PDF's, manipulates the data, re-formats it into a csv file and then sends it out via email or ftp. Needs to run on a schedule and be very tight to our Avaya systems. Avaya IQ runs scheduled jobs that output the pdf's. I also might have some other work setting up Linux boxes with Snort and Squid. You need to be able to work remotely or from my office and affectively communicate with IT folks in our Canadian office over the phone. I'm estimating 40 hours of work for the scripting.

We need a programmer to implement some well-defined web services in support of an existing Mac/iPad software product. We are flexible about the choice of language (e.g., jsp, Ruby, etc.), subject to a few restrictions described below.
We are an established software company developing tools in support of research in higher education. Our Mac and iPad applications make use of the first version of these web services today. The goal of this project is to implement version 2 of the services using different underlying tools and with added functionality. (The current version uses the IMAP protocol for communication; version 2 uses https.)
These web services will:
-- run on a Linux server, specifically, CentOS (thus, asp is not an option);
-- respond to https requests generated by new versions of our existing software applications running on Macs and iPads (we will provide you with either or both for testing purposes);
-- read and write from/to a mySQL database as well as the file system when handling the service requests (thus, knowledge of SQL is essential); and
-- extract data from JSON payloads in some instances (so the selected language must include mature JSON support).
If you choose to respond to this ad, please include in your response:
-- your experience developing web services, or other web cgi tools, under Linux;
-- a list of those programming languages with which you are most comfortable;
-- a summary of your availability in the next 60 days; and
-- a clear statement indicating that you understand that this work will be done on a contract basis, with payment made for milestone deliverables, not billable hours, with a not-to-exceed upper limit on the total cost of the project. If you are not comfortable working on a fixed cost basis, please do not respond to this ad.
We will consider any responses to this ad that do not explicitly address each of the above points to be automatically generated spam, rather than serious responses. On the other hand, if you take the time to respond specifically to this posting, we will make sure we respond personally to your message.
From the pool of initial applicants, we will select up to three of the most qualified candidates from which we will request detailed proposals for completion of the work. We will provide the following to each of these top candidates:
-- a detailed document describing the web services protocol, including each supported command and the expected behavior and responses; and
-- a mySQL database schema for the supporting database.
In return, we would expect to receive a proposal for performing the work, including:
-- the programming language(s) that you would use to implement the services;
-- a best estimate and a not-to-exceed price for the entire project (the two amounts can be the same);
-- a schedule for the completion of the work; and
-- the names and contact information for previous clients.
We will work with the selected applicant to establish a mutually agreeable set of milestones and payment schedule for the project.
We will provide an appropriately configured Linux server for development purposes, or you can develop and test on your own hardware. Acceptance testing will be performed on our hardware.

I have two servers, one for MySQL. I recently got the second server and attempted to move over and think I have botched things up. In addition I believe I have Apache regularly failing on me and have no idea why. Please submit your rates per hour, minimum, experience in the field, and any other details you find relevant via email, looking for someone ASAP.

We are under a deadline (missed) and need someone pretty quickly to help us. We have some of the code, but no styling or keyboard. Please email me and include examples of your work.

We have a 1 off project that needs a linux bad-a**. We are offering a fixed rate for this project payable upon completion. If you think our rate is crazy or unreasonable then respond with a counter offer and we will go from there. I am spelling out the problem below so you can understand clearly if this is up your alley before you respond.
*** The Problem ***
We are setting up a VPN from our office to a VM on rackspace. The VPN functions but does not forward packets properly. We believe the problem is iptables config but this is outside of our expertise and we have not been able to solve the problem. The layout is as follows.
The Open VPN Server is an Ubuntu 10 VM with openvpn installed via aptitude. The server has 2 NICs, eth0 and eth1. Eth0 is the WAN interface we connect the VPN to. eth1 is attached to the LAN we are trying to gain access too. The other VM's on the VPN Servers private subnet will require static routes pointing to the VPN and VPN Client subnets.
The OpenVPN client is our router/firewall at the office. It is a pfSense (BSD) firewall. This side of the equation works. The client connects and routing and packet filter rules seem to behave properly. The problem child seems to be the VPN Server.
The crux of the problem is this. We can ping across the VPN to the VPN Servers LAN IP, and we can ping from the VPN server to any LAN IP's on the VPN Client side. We can NOT ping from the VPN Client LAN subnet to the VPN Server LAN subnet. We also can NOT ping from the VPN Server LAN subnet to the VPN LAN or VPN Client LAN subnets. Packets seem to die at the VPN server rather than traversing the eth1 to the tun0 interface.
We think the problem is ip forwarding or iptable rules on the VPN server. But again this is out of our expertise.
*** Recap ***
We think the problem should only be a few hours work for someone who knows what they are doing. If you disagree reply with your counter offer and we can talk. We are offering $150 to resolve this. Payment in full upon completion. You will be give full access to all servers to resolve this.
*** Requirements ***
You MUST be a US citizen, provide a valid US drivers license and must sign an NDA prior to working. Payment in full immediately upon completion.
*** If you think our pay is unreasonable provide a counter offer ***

I need a Linux C programmer to create a Linux binary to interpret CD table of contents input from file or pipe and convert to MusicBrainz discid. Open source code already exists for a similar function (libdiscid) but that code needs access to /dev/cdrom, which is not possible in my situation. All code must be contributed back to open-source community in accord with libdiscid's associated licence (LGPL). Please review these docs before contacting me:
