This one-shot comes from Marvel's online digital comic series "Monsters, Myths & Marvels" exploring the many such creatures and entities that populate the Marvel Universe. This time it's about the mythical savage creature known as the Wendigo. Both the Wendigo and Wolverine had their very first appearance in Incredible Hulk #180 (October 1974) which, for those who follow my posts, was reprinted in full in King-Size Hulk #1 (Released May 29, 2008) that I posted as part of the Hulk Vol. 2 current and complete series compilation (link in details). In that King-Size the Wendigo also appears in the main feature versus the Red Hulk.

Chew is an American comic book series written by John Layman with art by Rob Guillory and published by Image Comics. It centers around Tony Chu, a police detective who is "cibopathic," meaning he gets psychic impressions from whatever he eats. Chu gets appointed to the FDA, which, because of the illegalization of chicken, has now become the most powerful law-enforcement branch of the United States government. See any connections so far? Well, the first three issues of Chew have all sold out multiple printings with the first issue receiving four printings as well as being reprinted in black and white in The Walking Dead #63. To say that critical reception has been mostly positive would be an understatement. Peer response however remains muted, probably because of sheer envy. The first five issues comprise the initial story arc entitled "Taster's Choice" and averaged an Outstanding 9.08 from the editors of IGN. High praise, considering. This comic book series is worth all the praise, and more. Issues #7 and 8 are parts two and three of the second story arc, "International Flavor."
