The first release of the Metal Gear HD collection was quite a disappointment to most as it didn’t include the original Metal Gear game (unless you got the Japanese version) and Konami finally felt compelled to right that with the Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection.
This PlayStation exclusive collection contains the following
- Eight complete games:
- Metal Gear
- Metal Gear 2
- Metal Gear solid 1
- Metal Gear Solid 2: HD edition
- Metal Gear Solid 3: HD edition
- Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy edition,
- Metal Gear Solid: peace walker HD edition
- Metal Gear Solid: VR missions
- 2 Exclusive Ashley Wood Bande Desinee Graphic Novels; Upscaled in HD and released for the first time in North America and Latin America
- 92+ Average Metacritic Rating for all games
- 100 PG Artbook – spanning the 25 year history of the acclaimed Metal Gear series
Unfortunately, the original Metal Gear Solid game doesn’t get an HD update but the collection does come with the MSX versions of Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake.
Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will be available in stores July 9th, 2013. You can pre-order now at Amazon.

Nvidia’s official entry into the portable gaming console market is almost here. Project SHIELD (or simply SHIELD), is now available for pre-order for the slightly hefty price of $349.
For the price you get a console-grade controller, a high-definition, 720p HD display and all the benefits of running the Tegra 4. Sure it runs Android like most of the smartphones already available in the market but what makes the Shield special, as Nvidia put it, is like the Ouya, it’s more gaming-centric.
Here’s what you’ll get with the Shield:
- Tegra 4 – The world’s fastest mobile processor delivers rich graphics and unbeatable performance thanks to 72 GPU cores, four CPU cores and 2GB of RAM
- Console-grade controller – Precise control thanks to dual analog joysticks, a full-sized D-Pad, left and right analog triggers, full-sized bumpers and A/B/X/Y buttons
- Multi-touch display – 5-inch, 720p retinal multi-touch display for high-fidelity visuals
- Integrated speakers – Custom, bass reflex, tuned port audio system – we think this is SHIELD’s sleeper feature
- Wi-Fi – 802.11n 2X2 MIMO game-speed Wi-Fi for game streaming
- Pure Android – Latest Android Jelly Bean operating system from Google, for access to Android games and apps
- There’s more – We put into SHIELD everything we would want in a premium mobile gaming device: 16 GB memory, GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, a mini-HDMI output, micro-USB 2.0, a microSD storage slot, a 3.5-mm stereo headphone jack. See the full spec sheet, here.
Pre-orders start on May 20 via Nvidia’s partners and shield.nvidia.com. The Nvidia shield will be able to run apps from NVIDIA TegraZone, Google Play and Steam (by connecting to your PC of course).

The highly anticipated 2.0 patch of SimCity is finally available. Just fire up your game clients to automatically download and install the patch.
Full change log available below:
What’s New
- Mayors Mansion: Mayors will now drive their fancy cars to work. Mayor will take their helicopter, limo, or sports car if the modules are present.
- Data maps: Now show in their normal color when a color filter is enabled (unless in a colorblind mode)
- HUD: Now color-corrects when in a colorblind mode.
Fixes and Updates
- Cities not Processing: Mitigates some of the issues that were causing cities not to process. We are continuing to work on and improve this issue.
- Region Filters: Now sorts regions with available cities to the top
- Invitations: Invitations to join a region should be sent and received more quickly.
- Tourism: Fixes for unexplained fluctuation of tourists. Tourists more smartly counted on transit.
- Cruise ships should now be a lot more effective at bringing medium and high wealth tourists in coastal cities.
- New tourists will now decide to come into a city once leaving tourists reach train stations, bus depots, or cruise ship docs instead of waiting for those tourists to go out to the region first.
- This change should reduce the downtime of tourist buildings.
- Casinos: Casinos tuned so that Gambling will be a more profitable specialty. Players must bulldoze and replace existing casinos to see effects of tuning.
- The larger casinos now invite more tourists into the city which helps keep them full.
- Note that existing casinos will need to be replaced to take advantage of this change.
- More Casinos: Raised module limit on Sci-Fi and Sleek Casinos to 6 modules.
- Region Play: Cash gifts can now be received in a bankrupt city.
- Education: Fixed school buses getting stuck at the high school. Existing Schools will fix themselves.
- Education: Fixed school buses picking up students at neighboring cities that didn’t have school bus stops.
- Education: Fix to more accurately track regional student population.
- Education: Fix where kids leaving the school bus stop would teleport to the nearest pedestrian path instead of walking directly into the school.
- Education: University wings now give the proper bonus.
- Recycling: Fix for the Recycling Center where it would sometimes stop working, recycling services will visit other cities.
- Air pollution: Fixed issue where air pollution would appear to come from nowhere. Fix issues where your regional air pollution would be reflected back into your box for a double penalty.
- Fire Service: Fire Trucks don’t clump, dispatch to fires more efficiently.
- Water: Water pumps are now capable of pumping water from rivers at a larger radius so they can take better advantage of the water table in a city.
- Disasters: Some players were getting hit too frequently with random disasters, this introduces a cooldown where no random disasters will occur.
- Trade: Fix for trade ports that suddenly stop shipping.
- Transit: Street Cars and Buses go to high volume stops first.
- Transit: A city with residents and public transit will now provide the accurate amount of workers and shoppers to its neighbors.
- Transit: A transit vehicle stuck in a pick-up or drop off loop will now go back to a garage instead of trying to pick up more people.
- Transit vehicles should recover automatically after the update. If players want to force the recovery, turn off the stops that are having looping issues, wait a few game hours, then turn them back on.
- Transit: Neighbors buses will now come in lower numbers into the city and do a better job at picking up local passengers first.
- Traffic: Medium density roads now create traffic lights at intersections with other roads and avenues of equal or higher density.
- Residential Tuning: Residential-only cities have failure state.
- Buildings are prevented from going up in density when they don’t have power or water.
- The amount of happiness gained from low taxes, police, fire, and health outreach has been lowered.
- Fixed some cases where buildings would not go abandoned when they should have.
- Higher density residential buildings are no longer blocked from going abandoned due to not having enough money.
- Happiness from low taxes does not double up every time it is given.
- Losing happiness due to not having a job is more impactful.
- Budgets: Fixed bug with monthly transactions being used to get around systems pushing back.
- Systems like fire, abandonment, garbage, sewage don’t turn on until you’ve made a certain amount of money. Gifts from neighbors are taken into account as well.
- You can no longer create a city that never gets fires, crime, health, or other pushback issues.
- Income progression (which we use to turn on pushback systems) was not including transactions from gifts, global market sales, or loans.
- Income progression should always go up regardless if you have higher expenses. It is the total income that you are bringing in from your city that turns on pushback systems.
- Audio: Fixes issue where audio will stop working after creating a large city or where phantom audio sounds play in a city.
- Demolish: Fixes issue that occurred when players demolished buildings that had service vehicles, delivery vehicles, or agents out in the city or region. Previously, the agents would be in a state of limbo and would not recover when new buildings of that type were placed. This will no longer happen.

Dengeki PlayStation has a few more tidbits with the upcoming Atelier title, Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemist of Dusk Sky, featuring details on the new battle system and introducing three new characters.
Characters – English names via Gematsu ^^;
- Auin Sidered (アウィン・サイドレッド) (CV: Kenji Akabane) – 20 years old, B blood-type, 175 cm tall. A balloon maintenance guy from the tech department. He is a carefree, good-looker with gray hair and glasses, and carries a giant hammer. He is also Escha’s cousin and maintenance guy working for the tech group. He’s popular, having performed maintenance on carriages and public facilities. He has a strong sense of duty and a frank personality. And he admires the adventurer Rafer. Escha calls him “Big Brother.”
- Slayer Hazelgrimm (スレイヤ・ヘーゼルグリム) (CV: Chiharu Kitaoka) – 26 years old, B blood-type, 167 cm. Historian. A young lady with a nice body and either silver or white hair. She wears a shirt, jacket, and necktie over a black slip and skirt with a slit in it. A specialist in the field of historical inquiry, she has a bit of alchemical knowledge from her study of relics from the period of prosperity. She can handle dangerous field work with ease. Her weapon is an earring, which she uses as a catalyst for her special “analysis” power.
- Rafer Ruckberry (レイファー・ラックベリー) (CV: Yasunori Masutani) – 32 years old, AB blood-type, 178 cm. Treasure hunter. Cowboy-esque. A young guy with blond hair and a beard. His weapon is a top break revolver. He’s a treasure hunter who wanders the world. He hits it off with the explorers of the ruins, and is himself tackling an excavation. He pokes his nose into anything that seems interesting.
Battle System
- Up to six people can participate in battle.
- Party can use support moves as much as remains in the lower right gauge.
- When your allies use chain attacks, the damage amount increases, so tactical importance will be placed on combos.
Interviews
- Rie Murakawa (voice of Escha)
- The way they recorded was different from doing anime since one person’s lines are rounded up and done at once.
- Escha and Logy have a brother-sister-like relationship.
- The set-up for the end has to do with Logy’s past. There is a memorable scene where Escha gets emotional with Logy.
- The funny scenes are funny to a worrisome degree.
- Yuuki Tanaka (Scenario Planner)
- There’s going to be a NicoNama streaming show.
- Concerts have also been slated.
Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemist of Dusk Sky (エスカ&ロジーのアトリエ~黄昏の空の錬金術士) ~ Esuka & Rojii no Atorie ~Tasogare no Sora no Renkinjutsushi~ is set to release in Japan on June 27 of this year.

Project X Zone is set for release on June 25 for North America and July 5 for Europe and with that, Namco Bandai has shared a bit more info for the game like a limited edition bundle and an english-subbed trailer.
Like Namco Bandai’s recent announcement for Tales of Xillia, Project X Zone will also have a limited edition bundle (although this game has no figures involved). The limited edition print costs the same as regular game but includes a mini-art book and poster featuring the characters and franchises represented in the game and a music CD featuring the game’s high tempo music.
And yes, this Limited Edition bundle is likely a first print thing only so once stocks are gone.
The biggest thing in Namco Bandai’s announcement is that Project X Zone will use the game’s original Japanese voice track with English subtitles. Arguably, a lot more games should be doing this for the sake of die-hard JRPG fans.
Here’s the english subbed video:
Project X Zone Game features:
Features
- Team up with classic characters from dozens of the most popular franchises in video game history
- Incredible animated special attacks and combos
- Perform strategic attacks using different combos with the “Cross Active Battle System”
- Collaboration of music from some of the most popular franchises of all time
