I work on a pier and wear waterproof jacket, trousers and boots .In heavy rain, these will become waterlogged but we have no facilities ie heaters and hanging area to dry them. Infact we have an unventilated cupboard .I ve been told take my stuff home but this is sometimes impractical. We often do several shifts a day and putting on damp clothing is not very nice. I want to know if there are any rules for this type of thing.Health and safety guidelines perhaps?

Hi all, I'm going to be taking a flight abroad to work at a camping site and have been told i can only take one piece of luggage that cannot exceed 15kgs. I have a list below of what i need to take: -Clothes you do not mind working in or getting dirty -Clothes/shoes for days and nights off -Sleeping bag and pillowcase -Waterproof / sturdy shoes or boots in addition to shoes and trainers -Waterproof Jacket and Trousers -Towels -Toiletries/medical supplies/sun protection -Hairdryer Ofcourse thats just a list, i'm abit worried about how much of it to take as its for 3 months and the weather can be anything from veryhot to a uk midwinter. Also i'm not sure what kind of luggage i should take, i do have suitcases but was thinking that might add more weight whereas i'm sure one of them big rucksacks might be lighter but then i'm confused about what litre to get, can anyone help please?. -k-

i'm showing traditional coloured cobs in-hand this summer (in the UK) but i'm unsure of what i should be wearing. anyway, last year i showed in one class but it was chucking it down with rain. i wore a blue tweed jacket, cream jodphurs & jod boots with my jods pulled down over the boots with clips. & my skull cap with a velvet hat silk over the top. but like i said, it was chucking it down & i had waterproofs on over the top of my clothing. my questions are; - is blue tweed acceptable in showing in-hand in traditional classes? i know people usually have brown or green tweed but i don't really have the money to buy another jacket at the minute but at the same time i don't want to get it wrong. - should i buy some like long trouser things like this http://www.boblangrish.com/images/gallerie...owingInHand.jpg to wear instead of my jods? & if the answer is yes, could you find me some on the web so i know what to ask for when i go to get them? because i'm not really sure what they're called. or actually, are they just literally trousers like that? like not a special equestrian showing brand or something if you get me? - finally, should i wear my hat? i know about safety & everything, but seeing as its not a proper showing hat i think it would look a bit silly, thats all. thanks in advance if you too the time to read all that & answer my questions, im really in need of help seeing as i go away to wales where im showing on friday [: thanks for the information both of you [: i'm showing in powys, nothing big though. two shows that i know of so far, both in the black mountains area (ish). i dont know if ill be able to get a new jacket by friday because ive been to have a look today & there wasn't anything other than a £200 caldene one but thanks for the help, ill keep a look out for the hat when i go looking tomorrow [: your horse is beautiful by the way.

I call them knickers and I am from Liverpool, England, I have never called underwear pants in my life. I also call trousers pants, but my flatmates think that is American, I think calling knickers pants sounds American, like 'that's pants!' And Southerners (England) always completely forget about the North of England, because most of the North calls trousers pants, informally of course. Formally they are trousers, I know that, but my friends laughed when I said I needed to buy some waterproof pants. I read on one website, it is more traditional to use the word pants to mean something that covers you legs as oppose to underwear. Afterall it does come from the word pantaloons, and they are UNDERpants. So, can you please say what you call underwear and the things that cover your legs and say where you come from including your city. And can you say what you would call them formally. Thank you.

Im looking for some adidas trousers/tracksuit bottoms. Theyre brown with orange stripes down the side. Not waterproof or anything, theyre in the material that makes you really sweaty and sticks to your legs!

We are going to Whistler for one day only, in february. We want to do a skiing lesson for the day. Can you hire clothing there?? If so what sizes - my issue is i'm a larger lady (US size 16-18) and if I can hire some waterproof trousers and coat it would be good, as its only for the day - or should I bring my own? Where on the mountains do the beginners lessons take part? Is it worthwhile having lessons for one day, if only here for the day, or would something else be a better use of time?? Will we be able to use the peak to peak?? (Think the answer to this is no - if we are having a full day lesson, we will have lessons so no time to use peak to peak??????) If we don't have any ski lessons could we just use the peak to peak to sightsee?? If we just sightsee would waterproof trousers still be necessary?? Would boots and warm clothes be good enough?? What would be the best use of one full day in your opinion?? I want to experience Whistler, what shouldn't we miss??? I want to see everything but know that I can't, so any suggestions would be great. Thanks

I'm going for a skiing lesson before i go on my school ski trip. I have all the ski clothes and they provide boots and stuff but i don't know if i will be too hot wearing all the base layers and everything I would wear away skiing. I thought i would wear the ski trousers as they are waterproof and i will probably fall over a lot! But should i wear my ski coat as well and how many layers underneath? Thanks.
