H-Town Blogs is tweaking the site and one if its tweaks was to join the bandwagon and get it’s own spot at Flickr. Pics from group events will be showing up here…

Pete the Cromulent suggests a post-Rita gathering…
Where? Hans’ Village Bier and Vino Haus - In the Rice Village on Quenby (also the site of APCB Beerfest I). There’s a map on the web site.
When? This Saturday (Oct. 1), at…say…6-ish? This should give me ample time to fill the screw holes on my window frames.
Why? Because we could all use a break after two weeks of Rita-related news. Plus, the temperatures should have “cooled” down to the mid-80s.
How? Get in your cars and drive there. What am I, your mother?
It’s a cozy place.
I want to apologize for keeping the list up to date.
I’m on a lot of sites right now, and I’ll be updating my own at isfullofcrap.com.
There’s also a shoutcast going on at houstonpodcasting.com that will take your calls, Skypes, emails, and IRC questions.
I’ve been collecting up various MSM and blog links for Rita coverage…
If you’ve got more, add them in the comments or write me.
Greetings, y’all.
It’s been a while since there’s been a come-one-come-all Htowblogs meetup. I’ve held a few of my own and Houston Metrobloggers have held a few, but I think it’s time to get the ball rolling as the mercury stops flirting and pawing at the 100 mark.
Onion Street Cafe and Kaveh Kanes are regular ports of call for Htownblogs while I’ve been suggesting such spots as Kennealy’s, Downtown Cabo’s, Stag’s Head, and Goode Company Armadillo for my own gatherings. However, since this site is your sire in a way, I thought I’d open things up to your suggestions for location as well as date and time (weekday evening, weekend afternoon, etc.)
The comments are open, operators are standing by, and please pass the word around that Htownblogs is approaching the stage of being broom-clean and ready to pull the plastic wrapping off.
A local Houston blogger has set up a website to spread the word on how Houstonians can help the Katrina evacuees. Please check out
and do your part to help ease the effects of Katrina’s devastation. There is current information on donations, volunteer needs, etc.
Through team effort and dedication we are finally caught up on adding new members (I was over six months behind). If you don’t see yourself in the “New This Month” list, check the main members’ list (you may have accidentally been categorized in there) and if you *still* don’t see your listing, please e-mail us at info AT htownblogs DOT com. We may have somehow missed you in the over 100 requests we had to go through.
Thanks for your patience and welcome to H-Town Blogs!
Please excuse our mess as we work on the next version of Htownblogs.
We’re working behind the scenes to come up with some new and exciting stuff and some dust may blow up here or there!
Thanks for everyone’s interest and for your patience. H-Town Blogs has not died but did go into hiatus and I apologize for not keeping everyone updated. I am the sole administrator at this time and with new job responsibilities, I just couldn’t get in here to keep things updated. Once again, I apologize.
I do have a few things in mind though to revitalize the site including a re-design and adding more administrators and authors. Please do stay tuned as I get things moving once again…
Till then…
