I don't know who is the webmaster nowadays, that's why I post here.
One of my friends had big problem finding unofficial gecko updater today.
I must admit I myself couldn't find it as easily as I wish it should be, I simply forgot they are on extensions central...
Sure I have found it in the end under the very last link on the resources page pointing to extension central, but I'm not surprised my buddy decided to rather email me and ask for help than dig through all the links there.
So here's a pitch:
add a link to K-Meleon's Updater page right below the "Latest Stable Release" on the download page, please! (or somewhere else on the download page, but since it is the most important from all of the downloads it should be next to latest version IMHO). Please? :)
Yes, I know the gecko updaters are UNOFFICIAL builds by desga, but since there are no other official updaters, and these are as good as they can be, they are de facto same as official updates (if there were any).

Hi,
I am curious when is the newer version is going to be available? I have been waiting for ever. Is there any official timeline planned for the release?
I love Kmeleon and use it for most of my browsing. Only concern is, if a newer version comes out once an year, will it be as secure as the browsers which are getting updated once a month (say firefox)

Another way to check manually to see if the website you wish to use is a safe one is to use this tool from Symantec from the K-Meleon Search Engines.
Just add this one in to your mix.
Norton Safe Web
(copy and paste the url)
[safeweb.norton.com]
or remove the extra spaces

The k-meleon Website badly needs overhaul. A wiki is mentioned, but it's the same clunky site. Since I like kmeleon except for a few bugs/missing features, I'd like to help revamp the site. Who do I turn to?
P.S. I've done some sites with Typo3, so I'm thinking of porting to that. Does that mean another hoster, or can sourceforge handle it? (php 5.2, mySql 5, gdlib, mod_rewrite, and so on)

Hi to everyone,
I would like to suggest that Bing Translator and RE-newed Google Translator should be included into K-Meleon translation tool. Babel Fish (Yahoo) has become obsolete and an outdated tool for the moment.
I would also like to see Multitran dictionary to be included into Russian version of K-Meleon.
Thank you for understanding.

Skin/Theme for K-Meleon v1.5
DOWNLOAD & INSTALL (Setup File)
Karameleon is a modification of Alex W's classic theme for Firefox: Charamel and its derivative: Silvermel. Almost all bitmaps in Karameleon make use of alpha-transparency that was introduced in K-Meleon in version 1.5. As a result, it's not compatible with v1.1, but that's a minor trade-off compared to the benefit of having it seamlessly integrate with all backgrounds. The screenshot above is with the included background enabled. The screenshot below is with the background disabled within a Windows 7 visual style for XP. The caramel-colored gecko throbber morphs into and out of a caramel swirl in keeping with the theme.:)
*Available in two sizes: Large (pictured) and Small.
*Privacy Bar included with added Flash Block button.
*Privacy menu available via the Stop button's right-click.
*Clear Data menu available via the Privacy Bar's Clear buttons right-click.
*Preferences Menu | Compact Menu button included.
*Support for the addon/extensions: Restart Plus and Search+
Hope you like!

pref("browser.urlbar.maxRichResults", 0);
Fore some reason the value above does not seems to have an effect in K-Meleon 1.5.3 anymore..
No matter what i do the dropdown url bar history tingy keeps on staying there...Went to F2 and tried to disable it from there but it requires a positive integer ...
Now if there is something i hate the most is having the stupid drop down ulr history bar poping up in my face everytime i type www.cor .....
The drop down sugestion box whatever it is is very annoying ....is there any way to remove it?>
Any ideas?
Cheers!

I Created a directory where everything went. I named C:\projects. I also Created two more in there, one named mozilla and the other kmeleon. After that, I unzipped the respective source code packages with the archive program in their respective directories.
That`s what it looks like:
C:\projects\mozilla\mozilla ( Where there`s a lot of folders 230 MB 5449 FOLDERS INSIDE)
C:\projects\kmeleon with two folders inside: mozilla(20.6 MB 119 FOLDERS)
and src (5.74 137 FOLDERS)
AND than i got stucked at this level
How to Configure
You'll need a batch file in your projects directory to set up the environment prior to compiling:

Right...I am playing with my All.js file right now..

I have been joining a lot of sites recently and am getting fed up with having to keep retyping my 3 different email addresses, passwords, name/username etc. I know that once i am a member i can have them filled in for me but i got to thinking, wouldn't it be good if there was a field at the top of my browser where i could put all the words and phrases i used often, so that when needed, I could just drag and drop onto the page or at least copy/paste. even better if you put the cursor on in the field you wanted to fill and then double clicked on the appropiate word. this could be done in a drop down list like the history on the url field is, or something similar. somewhere they are easy to get to. obviously these would only appear in your own browser and maybe they could be turned off if someone else was going to use the pc. I also think it would be great if kmeleon did this first as it is my favorate browser and i would like to stick with it.
what does everyone else think about this?
may be some of you have some extra ideas for this.
if anyone knows any of the km developers please point them to this post.
thanks.

Addon/Extension for K-Meleon v1.1 & 1.5
DOWNLOAD & INSTALL (Setup File) *Replaces search.kmm*
Adds the following features to K-Meleon's search function:
Search+ Icon Button - Creates a toolbar/button to be used as a replacement for the Search Buttons toolbar. Each functioning engine in the Search Engines tab under the Finding Websites section in Preferences has its own icon displayed on the button when used as default. Also included are: CNET, Scroogle, Google-Alt(their latest colorful incarnation), k-meleon and YouTube. All are located in skins - default.
*You can also instantly use any 16,16 bmp on your PC for any of the engines. Just go to Search Options - Change Icon.
Previous Searches - When enabled, logs all of your previous searches to a Previous Searches submenu list, the most recent displayed on top. When clicked, the search is again initiated. There is no set limit upon installation, but you can set the maximum amount of searches to be saved in Search Options. Upon exit, if there are more than your max amount, the oldest searches are deleted leaving the most recent. When disabled, the Previous Searches submenu is immediately removed and searches are not logged. You can also delete the entire list using Clear Previous Searches.
Site Search - When enabled, displays Site Search under the search list along with the engine used to search the current site. You can use Google(default), bing, Scroogle or Yahoo.
Keywords - Each engine as well as Multisearch and Site Search can be assigned a keyword. Typing the keyword into the URL/address bar followed by space, the search query, plus CTRL+G or ALT+ENTER(if checked) automatically initiates a search with that engine.
Move Up/Down - You can move each search engine up and down the list. To move it quickly just keep your finger on ENTER, Y, or N until it reaches the desired location.

Highlight Search Query - Highlights the search query in the results page.
Show Previous Search Query - Displays the previous search query in the search prompt.
Use ALT+ENTER to Search - Since the default keyboard shortcut SHIFT+ENTER can't call a macro from the URL bar, this option is provided.
Multisearch and Site Search can each be set/locked as default engine and each assigned a search icon.
Hope you like!

Hello,
i really love the privacy bar!! That's one reason why i use K-meleon. I edited the toolbars.cfg to my needs with a text-editor.
There you can add buttons to the privacy bar to activate or stop some things (which are also within the main menu) for easier and faster toggling.
I want to toggle Flash too easily within my privacy menu bar! (I don't mean the "kill flash" button.)
Mustn't it be possible??? How's the code in the toolbars.cfg??
Thomas
(Excuse me for my worse English, I mostly speak German.)
