So I think I am going to start trying to update this thing more regularly again. No set schedule for now but I will do my best to get SOMETHING up every day or so (not counting weekends). Using the RSS/LJ feeds will probably be good.

Anyway here's a drawing I did a couple days ago based on a dream I had the night before:

The "backstory" from the dream is the dude is kind of a prick, and the girl is super-quiet, and none of their friends can figure out why they're actually together. The REALLY weird part is in my dream they resembled a couple friends of mine, who have never met and would never date each other anyway. Also the real-life dude is not a prick, and the real-life girl is extremely outgoing.

WHAT

DREAMS ARE WEIRD

So I guess this is where all the Tool fans berate me for making fun of them and all the pretentious indie snobs berate me for making fun of Godspeed.

I GUESS WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY IS DAFT PUNK ARE REALLY GOOD

More cheesecake. I don't think I made her outfit obnoxious enough. Needs some polka dots or something.

Poking around on Mike Wieringo's site thanks to a link from Gabe of Penny Arcade and it's been quite the figurative kick in the pants. I remember back when I'd see another artist's work and think "man, there is no way I will ever be that good" whereas now I'm all "oh wow he draws some rad ladies, what parts of his style can I learn from and incorporate?"

Anyway, this is the result of a few minutes' messing around with some of the stuff I like in Wieringo's work. I am particularly diggin' the ladies' mouths, I've been unhappy with how I was doing them for months now but could never quite figure out how to change it. Problem solved, I think. At least for smirkin'.

People have been asking for it, so here's a big-size version of panel 1 of comic 600. Crop/resize to your heart's content.

Inspired by equal parts Josh Howard and Shane Glines. You won't see art like this in QC anytime soon, but if I ever start a secret side project it might look something like this.

...but I think it's a cute drawing. I've been reading a lot of John K and FunnyCute and it's rubbing off on me.

Some quick sketches I did of Dora to figure out what I wanted her hair to look like. Of all the characters in QC she's the one I've had the hardest time finding a definitive hairstyle for.

People seem to really like panel four of strip #562, so here's a big ol' full-size jpeg version suitable for desktop sizing.

I liked how Faye turned out in panel 4 of comic 556, so I decided to turn it into a desktop-sized image. Click the graphic to get the full-size version, and resize/crop to your heart's content.
