I was battling a cold this week, but I still managed to get my running in, although it was tougher than usual.
Tuesday: I met my friends for our regular run. I thought I could wimp out after 1 lap around the park if I didn't feel up to it, but I managed to do our whole 45 minutes.
Thursday: I snuck out for a run. Was still sick, but I got a good 45 minutes run done.
Friday: I ran for 50 minutes. My new solution to avoid waking at 4:30 AM to run in the pitch black is to start working at 5:30 AM so I can slip out for a run at 8:00 AM. Telecommuting benefit!
Sunday: Went for a super-painful 15-mile run. My hip hurt, my hydration pack was rubbing wrong, it was hot... but I still did it! Woo Hoo!!!
Saturday I ran a 5K for Wings. I don't have the official time, but my Garmin said it was 30:00.86. Not bad, not great, but okay for how poorly I've been running lately.
With that said, I'm not sure what my game plan is now. So, if I don't post for a while it's because I'm taking it easy.
Good luck to everyone running races this fall!
Anyway, here's the deets so far:
Run 1: 3.25 miles, speed work
Run 2: 4 miles
We rode our bikes to a local park after work to run. It was a nice change of scenery.
Thu = 2.1
No walking. No stitches. Just blissful easy running. This is why I run! I could have gone longer, but I decided to run home and beat the rain instead.
Splits:
mile 1 - 13:47
mile 2 - 12:28
.1 - 9:40 (59s)
I love negative splits! I know must people have a hard time doing them, but its the best way I can run. I hate feeling defeated at the end, but negative splits help me finish strong and I feel empowered!
Sun = Disney's Race for the Taste 10K!
It was an amazing race and I ran it over 6 minutes faster than my previous 10K. Official chip time was 1:15:52. The neatest thing was that my dad and Jason's dad flanked me in the finishing shoot and ran with me to the end. Please read the full race report at my blog for the full details because it was just amazing. And check out my awesome negative splits and the huge sprint at the end!

Anyone else run this race? How did you do? What did you think? Also, a big congratulations to everyone who ran a marathon this weekend. You are all amazing!
This was my goal race and now I'm switching gears training for my 1st 1/2 marathon. I am not sure who is updating the group now, but here are the details for my new goal race:
OUC 1/2 Marathon on Dec 6

I haven't posted any of my runs for the week yet, have I?
Runs 1-3: I ran 5 miles Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
Run 4: I ran 15 miles early this morning.
Wed: 2.69 miles
Feeling under the weather and not motivated. I'm trying to take baby steps back to running regularly.
Run 1 - Monday, 5 miles
Run 2 - Wednesday, 3.25 miles
Run 3 - Sunday, 10 miles
Great week. And to boot, I'm on vacation for the week :)
Thu = 2.6 miles in 34 min with Galloway group. We took a shortcut somewhere and missed a loop so came in short of 3 miles
Sat = 9.7 miles in 2h 10 min = This is a distance PR for me by over 3.5 miles! More details at my blog: http://kitzzyfit.blogspot.com/2008/10/distance-pr-966-miles.html
Just realized I haven't posted any of my runs for this week on here yet! So here goes...
Monday: I ran 4.57 miles while traveling for work. Really I was just running based on a time goal of 45 minutes, so I just took a meandering course around to explore while I ran.
Tuesday: I ran the same route from Monday, trying to do it faster. But I was also running to meet my time requirement of 45 minutes. Since I did the route faster, I had to add a little extra "meandering" at the end, did about 4.65 miles.
Thursday: Early morning run back at home. Since I was back on familiar turf I went faster, covering 5 miles in 45 minutes.
Saturday: We had a step back week after last week's 18 miler, just 12 miles on the schedule today. It's kind of funny when your mother-in-law asks you "Do you have a long run this weekend?" (Yes... every weekend!) and you respond, "Nah, it's just 12 this time." Then she snorts in disgust at the thought of running 12 miles and referring to it as a "just" distance.
Run 1 : 2.5 miles in under 25 mins. Good time for me. It was getting dark and I wanted to finish before I was no longer visible to the cars.
2. 2 miles
3. 4 miles
4. 3 miles
A little disappointed not to get the 5 mile in I had scheduled for Sunday. I'll do it tonight, but I'm so rigid when it comes to training plans. I like to do it exactly. I need to let that go and know that as long as I am on most of the time, a few changes won't make that much difference.
Thurs: 3
Sun: 14
No 4th run :( - but 14 is my new distance pr :)
Wednesday: 4.4 miles
Friday: 6.7 miles
Saturday: 4.9 miles
Sunday: 14.1 miles
Thu - 1 mile timed trial in 10:17! Plus about 1.75 miles of run/walk to warm up and cool down.
Sat - Miracle Miles 5K with a new PR of 35:38! That's about 3 minutes off my previous 5K time 2 weeks ago. This race was also extra special because my dad also ran it (sub-30) and my mom walked it. (Read full race report)
My running family:

I overslept this morning and didn't have time to eat or fuel (coffee) before running, and as a result this run was hard. Really makes me think I should start trying to break and coffee habit. Ugh. I hope I got the laziness out of my system this week and I'll go back to normal next week!
