I love the premise of this web-based comedy sketch: Henry VIII is alive and well, living in suburbia with his long-suffering wife Catherine Parr, and seriously addicted to the Internet. Why are they stealing scenes from my life now?!

Suzette Nicolas is not a "victim". Sure, she was weepy and vengeful when she needed the support of Gabriela, pandering politicians, and the ever-pliant blogosphere, and now that she's safely in the U.S., she drops the bombshell on us, "hey, you know what, maybe it didn't happen the way I said it did."...

I love, love, love articles that leave your brain a different shape than it was before reading them. This week Metafilter was responsible for a few more dings in my noggin: Unspeakable Conversations. In which an activist for the disabled meets and debates an animal rights activist who believes that disabled babies should be killed. [...]

The Large Hadron Collider went online this week. OK, I know that some people have been claiming it’ll create black holes and cause the end of the world, but we know better, right? Look, there have been many, many occasions when people were sure the end of the world was nigh - but nothing happened! Nothing [...]
