I’m off for a week hiking and mountainbiking in the Eifel National Park and the Naturpark Hohes Venn-Eifel on the German-Belgian border. We hire a house in the village Kalterherberg, near the beautiful town Monschau. We plan to visit Camp Vogelsang, an interesting military complex build by the Hitler-gang, until recently occupied by Belgian troops and now open to the general public. On the way back home we’ll ride the bike around and spend the night in the Herberg Smidse in Limburg.

I’ve bought a 2GB (!) SDCard and a tiny Sharkoon cardreader. I use the card as extra drive in my Treo pda. I synchronize the most used files from my PC onto the card – at hand at all times for all workstations I can use. I’ve also installed more sticky software, i.e. my favorite software Firefox and OpenOffice. There is a huge (and free) pack of portable software, as you can see on Portableapps and Portable freeware. Now my tiny USB-stick is a personal finetuned PC. And secure, since I can format the SDCard with an SMS-message, using Butler software.
