I missed the original post asking for Catherine Spaak music. Oops! Although her production can strike me as strangely stark, I really love her music and had my own little quest to track down her stuff a while ago. There are some real gems here.

Noi Siamo I Giovani [1964]
Which I no doubt got from here which was an unparalleled resource for 60s Italian music for a while.

Catherine Spaak Front

Collected
Non È Niente
Oh
Non Mi Innamoro Più
La Notte E Fatta Per Rubare
Tous Les Garcons Et Les Filles
Chiunque Tu Sia Ti Amo

See also this post in case you missed the s/t 1963 album.

Someone requested Catherine Spaak stuff a few weeks back and I just discovered this lovely album of hers so I thought I'd share. It's sung mostly in Italian with bits of French and features covers of Françoise's "Tous les garçons..." and "J'ai jete mon coeur," a cover of Annie Philippe's "Mes amis, mes copains" (or maybe it's the other way around), and maybe some others I didn't notice.

01 - Mes Amis Mes Copains
02 - Prima di Te Dopo Di Te
03 - L'etè Dernier
04 - Noi Due
05 - Riapre la Scuola
06 - Perdono
07 - Quelli Della Mia Età
08 - Tu Ridi Di Me
09 - J'aime Le Matin
10 - Ho Scherzato Con Il Cuore
11 - Quando Ti Vedo
12 - Tu Ed Io

First of all, I would like to say how thrilled I am to have found a community dedicated to my favorite genre of music. I just wish I would've known earlier so I could have went to the New York event, because it sounds like it was amazing.

Anyway, I hate to do this because I have nothing to offer in terms of music yet, but I would like to request an album, hopefully one of you could help me out. My hard drive crashed the other day and I didn't have some of my music backed up on my external, so I ended up losing one of my favorite albums. If any of you have and would be willing to upload France Gall's "Poupée de Son" album, I would be eternally grateful.

Either way, I'm excited to be a part of this community and I hope that soon I can start contributing things to share with you all!

Oleg from the Film Society of Lincoln Center in New York contacted me to share some information for New York yé-yé fans:

On Tuesday of next week we're having a US Premiere of Marc'o's LES IDOLES, the never-before-seen 1968 yé-yé musical romp starring Pierre Clémenti (a posterboy for the French left, most famous for his role as Catherine Deneuve's gangster lover in BELLE DE JOUR) and one of the greatest nouvelle vague actresses Bulle Ogier as pop singers backed by a band called Les Rollsticks (!). After the screening, there will be a yé-yé afterparty with complimentary wine and beer. You can find more information here: http://www.filmlinc.com/wrt/fcs/lesidoles.html

My wedding is quickly approaching (11/15) and I would love to have some of the best Yé-Yé (and other '60s chanteuse) music played for the first 30 minutes of my reception. I am looking for the more dramatic/romantic/dark/somber/dreamy songs as opposed to the pop-ier, upbeat, teeny-bopper songs (yes, odd I know, considering it's a celebration, but we are getting married at a Russian-themed lounge/cafe; we're hardly traditional). I checked out Amazon for compilations, but there are no track listings, so I don't even know what I would be paying for. Thanks to YouTube, I know what I like and don't like. So, I am looking for the music files/compilations that are similar to:

This one by Sylvie Vartan (don't know the title)
Rita Pavone - Cuore
Francoise Hardy - Mon amie la rose
France Gall -
Poupée de cire poupée de son (though I prefer the Arcade Fire's version better)

Thanks!

Well my friends, I do not know if someone here can help me. I am trying to find compilations of my new favorite singer: Alexandra (Doris Nefedov). She was very popular in Germany, and it makes me sad I do not know anyone who can share her music with me. Please if you have some of her songs I would be so happy...  if you could share them with me. I love all her songs ( I heard little pieces at last.fm) and any song will be received with love, but there is one song " Was sind wir Menschen doch fur Leute" . My GOD! ... well, I wish any of you will understand me; by the way thanks for all your help previously received!  Go and meet me at http://pablation.hi5.com or add me pretelin_2@hotmail.com in case you gotta hot hot music of Alexandra!

Does anyone have an mp3 of France Gall's Bébé Requin? I've fallen in love with it, but I do not have a copy.
