Browns president Mike Holmgren said resolving the quarterback issue was his highest priority and he meant it. In a span of one week, Holmgren gave the position a total makeover.
On March 8 the Browns traded a conditional seventh-round draft pick to the Seahawks for Seneca Wallace. Derek Anderson was released the next day. On March 13 the Browns signed Jake Delhomme to a two-year contract. The next day Brady Quinn was traded to the Broncos for running back Peyton Hillis, a sixth-round pick in 2006 and a conditional pick in 2012.
