Immortal Technique - The 3rd World (2008)
Immortal Technique has been touring the world after his previous release Revolutionary Vol. 2, including the Rock the Bells Tour for the past 3 years. This has kept him quite busy with the anticipation of his next release, "The 3rd World"growing steadily by the day. Finally Immortal Technique and DJ Green Lantern(DJ for Jay Z & Sirius Satellite) complete their vision of colliding their worlds into one full-length album.
The mix of street Hip Hop with the vivid landscapes of global struggle proves that world politics and music politics are almost one in the same. While still a full-length album, DJ Green Lantern blends and mixes it from start to finish, with about a 1/3 of the production to his name. Expect to hear Immortal Technique's striking lyrics on an even more street influenced production that occasionally fortifies him to show his bi-lingual versatility on the mic.

Braille - The IV Edition (2008)
pril 15th (TAX DAY) 2008 marks the official release date of Braille's forth solo album "The IV Edition". Although Braille has remained independent through most of his career, he embraced the opportunity to partner with Syntax/Koch for this landmark record. "The IV" (pronounce I-VEE) represents the roman numeral four (forth album), as well as a slew of other acronyms and metaphors used to describe the vision behind the music. The record plays like a celebration soundtrack touching on a wide variety of topics including marriage, death, temptation, and growth. Within the "celebration" theme Braille pairs himself up with a different producer for each track. The cast includes friends, artists Braille has been a fan of and even some international artists that he met during his travels. Some notables on that list include OhNo (Stones Throw), Marco Polo (Rawkus), Rob Swift, Speech (Arrested Development), DJ Spinna, Kno (CunninLynguists), S1 (Strange Fruit Project), Ohmega Watts (Ubiquity) and J-Zone.

Look Daggers (2Mex and Ikey Owens of mars volta)- Suffer in Style (2008)
Timing has everything to do with the collaboration between 2Mex (Visionaries, Of Mexican Descent) and keyboardist Ikey Owens (The Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents). The initial idea came from “The Brand New Heavies” album “Heavy Rhyme Experience Vol. 1.” The concept was simple: a Hip-Hop album performed by human beings.
As the first sessions began, Ikey and 2Mex enlisted Matt Wingnal and his studio ”Tackyland” in suburban Long Beach, CA, to record the initial tracks (i.e. “Before You Say No,” “Falcon Gentle,” “Beautiful Freak”). Called in for these sessions were old friends: Marshall Goodman (Long Beach Dub All-Stars), Sean Otero (Soul Hustlers), Pat Bailey (Breakestra/The Rebirth).
Finishing up the second half of the album, Ikey and 2Mex wanted to go for more rock inspired tracks and hooked up with now present and permanent band members Chris Clawson, Travis Laws, Mendee Ichikawa (Free Moral Agents), and later, Jesse Wilder (Teen Heroes, Forcefeild On) was added to their live band.

Junclassic (of Monsta Island Czars) - 2 Much Aint Enuff (2007)
Junclassic (pronounced June Classic) is an emcee whose capabilities lie deeply rooted in a multisyllable flow, versatile and varying cadences, and an unabashed emotional depth that many artists carefully avoid as a result of Hip Hop’s ubiquitously superficial machismo. Add to that a forceful delivery entrenched in a raspy baritone that echoes both triumph and tragedy and you have a multitalented free spirit with a lot on his mind and a willingness to share it all with the listener.

NYOIL - Hood Treason (2007)
" NYOIL takes this type of stance on several tracks throughout "Hood Treason." Shout It in The Streets dedicates a verse to educating the listener on our country's increasingly profitable prison-industrial complex. The title track HoodTreason contains a child-sung chorus pleading rappers to "Stop Sellin' Us Out!" And Y'all Should All Get Lynched is the Internet-famous track that calls for the death of all thugs, gangsters, video hoes and crack rappers.
The rest of the album jumps from throwback hip-hop to hard core content, from conscious themes to heartfelt personal reflections, and allows NYOIL to demonstrate his production potential, intellectual lyricism and often-metaphoric storytelling ability."

Blue & Exile - Below the Heavens (2007)
"I gotta give a huge shout out to the cats at Fat Beats Records for this one. They recommended Blu & Exile’s "Below The Heavens" over everything else they had on the shelf, and after listening to it, I understand why.
This album is an example of lyricism and turntablism at its finest. Every song is tight, every beat perfectly matches the verse laid upon it, and the whole album just flows from track to track."

Braille, Surreal, Ohmega Watts and DJ Idull - Four Days in Geneva (2007)
³ Geneva, the home of the United Nations Headquarters, the ³
³ World Trade Organisation, World Economic Forum and the World ³
³ Health Organisation among numerous other international ³
³ organisations, its Switzerland’s second-most populated city ³
³ after capital Zurich and the city with the second highest ³
³ standard of living in the world. Situated in the Romandy ³
³ region, where French is the dominant spoken language, Geneva ³
³ is a richly historical metropolis being the hotbed of the ³
³ Reformation and the centre of Calvinism in the sixteenth ³
³ century. With all that cultural wealth and inspiration in ³
³ the air, Geneva is the perfect place to record an album in ³
³ an ambitious four days. ³
³ ³
³ Four Days in Geneva is a unique concept album of just that – ³
³ four days in Geneva. While touring around Europe, Portland ³
³ residents Braille, Ohmega Watts, Surreal and DJ Idull ³
³ decided to make a four-day stopoff in Geneva and this is ³
³ album the result of their adlib visit to the city. Recorded ³
³ from the 8th to the 11th of May 2006 as an impromptu (and ³
³ far from planned) venture into Rec N Play Studios, the ³
³ strength of Four Days in Geneva rests on its spontaneity and ³
³ simultaneous creative ingenuity. Not only does it reflect ³
³ their adept musical talents, but the quartet also prove ³
³ their passionate dedication to crafting quality hip hop. ³
³ ³
³ Each with a renowned reputation for making positive, ³
³ forward-thinking hip hop, emcees Braille, Surreal and Ohmega ³
³ Watts bless the mic, while Ohmega also blesses the boards ³
³ and DJ Idull provides the cuts. Crafting beats so funky it’s ³
³ like they are backed by live instrumentation, Ohmega ³
³ provides some top-notch fresh production styles. Each emcee ³
³ works wonders with their vocalization, laying down ³
³ contagious hooks from one track to the next. Mirroring their ³
³ unity as a collective, they seamlessly bounce off each ³
³ other’s rhymes. ³
³ ³
³ Opening track Welcome to Geneva draws you in as Yann a.k.a. ³
³ Sunny G, the kind sir who offered his hospitality and studio ³
³ for the four days of recording, introduces the concept ³
³ behind the album firstly in French, and then in broken ³
³ English. To the tune of a funked up sax, standout track ³
³ Remember That Rhyme kicks “mad flavour like tropical juice.” ³
³ Braille, Ohmega and Surreal reflect on hip hop’s past ³
³ upholding its true meaning with some prolific statements ³
³ that others may need to be reminded of. “Money is a ³
³ tool/wisdom is a gift/I’m use those to break down walls and ³
³ uplift. ³
³ ³
³ Idull gets his time to shine on Idull Hands Interlude. ³
³ Braille, Ohmega and Surreal confess their spiritually on ³
³ Work For The Good before lyrically constructing a barrier to ³
³ keep the “wack” out of the hip hop community with Border ³
³ Patrol. The title track on the other hand is a lively little ³
³ number about the group’s overseas escapades, juxtaposed by ³
³ the reflective Four Days ‘Theme’ which details their ³
³ committed work ethic and drive. Complete with voice messages ³
³ from fellow emcees and all brought to a close with Sleezy ³
³ Jet Outro, a skit to make De La proud, Four Days in Geneva ³
³ is a solid four days work. ³
³ ³
³ Their mission? To make an album full of funky fresh sounds ³
³ and reflect their adventures in Geneva in a short four day ³

Breakthrough - Breakthrough (2007)
New version on the 2005 rls from CMS. The chilled out original gets remixed by man of the moment DJ Simbad whose 'Soul Fever' single on Raw Fusion was one of the tracks of the year in many circles. Simbad bring the track to the dancefloor with a beat workout and uber tension similar to Pepe Bradocks 'Deep Burnt'
Breakthrough was started by Jin in 2000 as a party at Aoyama Mix Club in Tokyo. Jin was already well known as DJ and Producer for the group Rhymester, widely considered as one of the best hip hop groups in Japan. Soon after, DSK Invisible and Masaya Fantasista joined, and the trio made it their mission to experiment with DJing in order to expand the sound of hip hop.
The Breakthrough Album was formed organically as an extension of their monthly DJ sessions. Their eclectic taste is apparent through the diversity of the sounds on the album, unified through a love for timeless music that is regardless of genre. This simple and pure approach to making music means that Breakthrough never quite know what they're going to compose next. There album contains hip hop, break beat, rap, vocal, funk, r&b, jazz, house, broken beat and dub.

Himalayan Project - Broken World (2007)
Independent Hip Hop stalwarts, Himalayan Project return with their third studio album ‘Broken World’. Known for their fierce and insightful songs about politics, hip-hop, race and culture, Chee Malabar and Rainman have been a mainstay in the oft over-populated world of hip hop. Having made their debut in 2001 with ‘The Middle Passage’, and following it up with ‘Wince at the Sun’, the group has remained industrious, continuing to evolve, with the release of Chee’s “solo” album with producer Zeeb––the eponymous titled “Oblique Brown”.
Over the past five years, HP has been busy: Performing coast to coast, hitting the college music and lecture circuit, and being featured in hip hop documentaries. The group’s lyrics have found their way into numerous college curriculum and PHD dissertations about identity and politics in America. Their body of work has earned them a reputation as important social commentators in the hip hop community.
If “The Middle Passage” and “Wince at the Sun” were overtly political and angst ridden, then “Broken World” finds the group looking inward, and delivering their most personal album to date.
The production on “Broken World” is handled by the Soulful MP’s (Kooz and Zeeb)––who have been at the helm of all previous Oblique Brown and HP releases to date. Notable cuts include “Satisfied” and “Manchild”, the former, a personal dialogue on track that documents the two childhood friends and emcees going through struggles as a group, and the latter; a scathing, veiled attack on the American cultural landscape.
Armed with a fiercely independent streak, Himalayan Project continue to grow into themselves, charting their personal histories on track and building a catalog that documents the times we live in.

³ stint. Do they succeed? Effortlessly. ³

La Coka Nostra (or short LCN) is an American hip hop group, comprised mainly of all former members of House of Pain, one former member of Non Phixion, and various other MCs and producers.
The group's name is derived from the notorious criminal organization (La) Cosa Nostra, which means "our thing", with the Italian word "cosa" ("thing", meaning "business") being replaced by the Spanish word "coka", which stands for cocaine. Slaine has noted the idea for the name was to incorporate some slang with the gangster theme, so the name would mean "this dope thing of ours", with "dope" being slang for something "cool", and not actual drugs.

Joe Budden - The Album Before The Album (2007)
Joe Budden is known for his energy, his eclectic lyricism and his
emotional wordplay, all of which are showcased on The Album Before The
Album. Budden unleashes various thoughts through freestyling, like not
fitting in on "Outcast" and helping those less fortunate on "Broken Wing."
He also designs his own mash-up as he borrows the hook and rhythm from
"Outside" and flows over it, appropriately entitled "Staind" for the
metal band he borrowed the idea from. Budden also adds some heat for the
clubs with bangers like "Pop Off" and "Stuntin'," featuring Coke. With
such high energy and creative ideas, it's clear Joe Budden treated The
Album Before The Album like he's about to release an actual major label
album. The Growth will be out when Detox drops...

“Intelligent Design” is 18 tracks of amazing concepts, from the poignant and reflective “Somethin’ Real” which focuses on the senselessness of murder, to the hilarious remake “Adult’s Story”, picking up where Slick Rick left off with Touch claiming he is “not the father” on a Maury Povich-like talk show. There’s also the catchy “Can’t Hold Me Back”, an anthem to staying determined with Belgian singer Nomad and “What I Really Wanna Say”, a defiant defense of freedom of speech featuring Cadence Weapon. Touch and Nato are ready to unleash their explosive sound, get ready to be blown away by these mad scientists.

Sabac Red - The Collabo Collection Vol.2 (2007)
Sabac Red, also known as Sabac, is a member of the former hip-hop group Non Phixion, born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. His family moved to Brooklyn, NY when he was four years old.
Sabac began his journey into hip-hop as a b-boy and aspiring graffiti artist. At the age of 12, Sabac began exploring the art of emceeing. He would listen to the mix shows and memorize other MCs' lyrics. He would then make parodies of the songs using his own lyrics. Sabac would perform at block parties, school talent shows and anywhere there was music and a mic, constantly battling other MCs and nurturing his craft.
Sabac released his debut solo album "Sabacolypse - A Change Gon' Come" on the independent Psycho+Logical-Records in June 2004. The album received great reviews and continues to sell units worldwide. In 2005 Sabac put out two powerful Mix CD's titled "Freestyle and Demos Vol. 1" and "Sabac Red Presents The Collabo Collection Vol. 1". The album contains guest appearances by Necro, who also produced the album, fellow political rapper Immortal Technique, Vinny Paz from Jedi Mind Tricks, and many others.
In 2005 Sabac moved to Oakland, California where he continues to lead workshops and train young people and adults.
Sabac is currently performing solo shows around the world as well as working on his next solo project, a CD/DVD Titled "The Ritual" due out 2007. He is also finishing up The Collabo Collection Vol. 2, which will be released right before "The Ritual". Sabac is planning a world tour for 2007 including places like Brazil, South Africa, South America and Australia.

Touch and Nato - Intelligent Design (2007)
“From the land of the pickup truck and black rubber puck” come two of the country’s brightest undiscovered hip hop talents, Touch (emcee) and Nato (producer/DJ).

Kaman Leung - Lacrimal (2007)
Kaman Leung is known for his electronic hip hop eps that became popular in the past years in the underground hip hop scene. With his debut album "Lacrimal," Leung returns to more dubby and abstract soundscapes .While Leung is probably better known for his bassdriven hip hop eps, this nine track album release finds him waist-deep in electronic dub soundscapes. But Leung adds enough new elements to the genre -- from walls of mechanical noise, to subtle melodica lines, soulful detroit synths, and funky basslines -- to keep this release deep and demanding your attention listen after listen.
Kaman Leung is a Swedish Chinese producer who made abstract electronic hip-hop beats for the past decade. After a trilogy series of eps for his own Lacerated recordings imprint out in the UK and instrumental hip hop anthems with Swedish producer Gravity a few years back which was featured on DJ Krush’s Code 4109, Leungs new album maybe an essential release in the recent abstract hip hop revival.

Bambu - I Scream Bars for Children (2007)
Bambu...one part of the duo Native Guns
For some artists, making music is an escape from reality. For Bambu, it’s an opportunity to change the world. As a young boy raised in the Watts District of Los Angeles in the early 80s, there was equal parts tragedy and inspiration to draw upon. The oldest male of his family to make it past a violent death, Bambu became an unwitting participant in a lifestyle that many rappers glorify, but rarely experience. “The gang culture, the ‘street mentality’ that everyone talks about, I grew up with those codes, so it’s second nature to me.” A product of a broken home as well, Bambu learned to stop wasting his potential against his own community and began to change himself. Turning his destructive energy around and applying it to music was easy for Bambu, who was clever, resourceful, and remarkably literate as a youngster.
On April 29th, the 15th Anniversary of the L.A. riots, Bambu is releasing his second solo album …i scream bars for the children, a bracing, emotional, and oftentimes, lighthearted account of his experiences as an organizer, a nationalist, and a representative of collective struggle. “My politics play a huge part in my life, therefore, my life plays a huge part in my music. What’s even more admirable is the connection that his music makes to the larger community. “I just want people to hear my music and question what is going on in the world.

Also featured here are a lineup of great emcees andvocalists such as Dungeon Masta, Lazah Life, Grime, Lil Vicious, Popa Chief, Polladon, Etcetera, Juice, Redz, Raw, Rambo, Preach and others. Freedom Writers - OST (2007)
I went to check this film out the other day cos it an urban drama and urban dramas are sickass, and this was a dope film. The film is more along the lines of Dangerous Minds, where the teacher is put in a real difficult teaching environment where the students dont respect or like her and she has to win their respect, do her job, and deal with her own private life at the same time. This teacher deals with a highly racial class with nearly all of the kids livin a tough life and some involved in gangs. She manages to get them to all get along and also make them appreciate learning. This based on a true story, and thats what it makes it dope otherwise i'd jus think of it as a fairytale. But i wonder how many teachers out there do or have done what this teacher did, not just to make kids appreciate and like learning but spend their own money to buy them books and organise field trips. Im thinkin very few.
For a MTV production the soundtrack for once is actually pretty good.

I got tagged, whatever the fuck that means. I think it's some sort of thing going round this blog where u gotta do wat the tagger says. Well i been tagged by blockster to post some shit bout myself, so if you wanna kno sum useless shit bout the guy posting up super dopeass music then read on otherwise jus carry on downloading.
As you can tell im real into underground hip hop, you kno cos i got tired of that mainstream crap with their crappy nursery rhyme lyrics and all they seem to be able to rap about the same 3 fuckin topics all the time; cappin someones ass, bling, and of course dem hoes.
But that dont mean i dismiss all mainstream urban music, sometimes a mainstream artist will drop a conscious and thoughtful track that will surprise me, or a mainstream producer will create a beat that is completely different to the club banger shit they always put out.
I live in London, UK
I play CounterStrike Source (CSS)...favourite game.
My favourite films are martial arts, urban comedies and dramas. Favourite film is 187.
thats enough info on me for now

The Roots - Game theory (2006)
The Roots, also known as The Legendary Roots Crew, The Fifth Dynasty, The Square Roots and The Foundation, are an influential, Grammy winning Philadelphia-based hip hop group, famed for a heavily jazzy sound and live instrumentation. Inspired by the "hip-hop band" concept pioneered by Stetsasonic, the Roots themselves have garnered critical acclaim and influenced later hip-hop and R&B acts.
The Roots' newest album is entitled Game Theory, and was released August 29th, 2006, on Def Jam records. ?uestlove describes the album as being very dark and reflective of the political state in America.[2] The first single from the album, "Don't Feel Right", appeared on the internet in May, 2006, and is available for free download on several web sites. Various guest appearances have been rumored, but Scratch Magazine confirmed only two: Peedi Peedi and Malik B. The late producer J Dilla also produces one song on the album. The album's first video, titled "The Don't Feel Right Trilogy", premiered on August 21, 2006, and features three songs, "In the Music", "Here I Come" and "Don't Feel Right". Despite critical acclaim and a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album, Game Theory has sold significantly less than the band's previous releases. This can be mostly attributed to the lack of promotion for the album.

Pumpkinhead - BK pumpkin patch (2007)[BOOTLEG]
Robert Diaz, better known as Pumpkinhead, is a rap artist who hails from Brooklyn, New York. He has released several albums to critical acclaim, is considered in the underground scene a rhyme writer and freestyler equal to peers like Aesop Rock and Pharoahe Monch, yet has thus far been unable to achieve mainstream success. He first became famous in 1998 with the release of the 12" single "Dynamic," which featured a backwards beat and Pumpkinhead's trademark punchlines delivered in a deep bass vocal tone. The single charted in College Music Journal but as would become symptomatic of his entire career the larger mainstream audience failed to pick up on it. A remix which reversed the reverse beat and featured a plethora of rap contemporaries soon followed, and Pumpkinhead continued to release underground singles. In 2003 Pumpkinhead tried to capitalize with the "Beautiful Mind" EP, again receiving praise for his work but little mainstream exposure. 2006 may finally be Pumpkinhead's breakthrough year as his new album Orange Moon Over Brooklyn has received the widest exposure and distribution of any album to date.
