Men's Basketball: Nate Miles Saga Nearing End
Nate Miles was up at UConn this past weekend, making an official visit.
Could he soon be at UConn for good?
"We're waiting for the magic word," said Miles' legal guardian, Sean Patterson.
That word could come this week from the NCAA, which is nearing the end of its look into Miles' transcript. The NCAA is determining whether Miles, who has attended five high schools, has completed enough core courses.
Should Miles and the four other UConn recruits all gain eligibility, the Huskies, who have four open scholarships, would have to see another player transfer.
Could Stanley Robinson be that player?
Here's what Jim Calhoun had to say to Gavin Keefe of The Day of New London:
"He's got some things that he's got to prove to us much the same as, quite frankly, Curtis [Kelly] and Doug [Wiggins]," Calhoun said. "Right now Stanley is in the process of [determining] if he wants to be part of the program. It's the same package as the other kids with a combination of academics and social, and being on time and being dedicated to the program. He has time to show us that he wants to do the things that we asked him to do. There is an opportunity. He certainly could have a UConn uniform on again."
