What do you mean by having a soft lens? I have been playing around with auto and manual focus. and I have noticed that its hard to get a good picture the farther away I am. I wonder if its my lighting that is making the pictures look out of focus? I try to do outside or by a window if I am inside. I have an off camera flash, but even then it looks to (not natural) I am still reading my entire camera manual, its quite a bit. I have lots to learn. a lot of my pictures are cropped, could that make them look the way you say?
