I personally don't use the read/write web, i don't have facebook or Myspace because i personally think they are a waist of time. Gilmore gives a few examples about the shift such as when he received an email from Henry Niman after posting a few of his columns. The positive benefit is that blogs tend to be part of running conversations allowing people express their opinions.
