A brief introduction of the P13N caching service and clustering in WebLogic Platform 7 and summarizes how caching improves application performance, while clustering improves scalability and availability. Following an initial introduction, the paper goes on to describe a challenge when using P13N caching and cluster together, and explains why the default usage pattern of P13N caching does not work in the cluster mode.
