Robin gets help from a self-help author (played by Jennifer Lopez) to get back at arney for the way he handled their break-up on How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 7pm).
Alton Brown examines ways to use salt in desserts in a new episode of Good Eats (Food Network, 7pm and 2am).
Cate and Ryan are forced to look happy as hosts of a wedding expo on Life Unexpected (CW, 7pm).
Ricky returns and is interested in shared custody on The Secret Life of the Amerian Teenager (ABC Family, 7pm and 11pm; also next Monday at 6pm). Anson Williams (of Happy Days) directed this episode.

The always fabulous Stephen Root guest stars as a parole officer on 24 (FOX, 8pm). Plus Jack pursues a suspect and there’s some sort of shake-up at CTU.
Charlie and Chelsea get back together . . . at least for one night on Two and a Half Men (CBS, 8pm). Stacy Keach returns as Chelsea’s Dad and John Amos returns as his boyfriend. Steven Eckholdt also guest stars.
Nancy faces her phobia as she treats a construction worker who is trapped underground, Rabbit and Marisa tend to the injured at the scene of a bank robbery, and Boone has a new position on Trauma (NBC, 8pm).
Decorators work on a cake for a wedding with a vintage Hollywood theme on Ultimate Cake Off (TLC, 8pm and 11pm; also on Tuesday at 6pm).

The guys find a ring at a garage sale that appears to have been used in The Lord of the Rings films on The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8:30pm). They fight over it, of course.
