- OH NO!!
Chris Evans' 'Heart Isn't As In' Superhero Movies & He's Over Clubs (Except With Avengers Co-Stars)
Chris Evans' heart isn't "in" superhero sagas as it was. The 32-year-old actor - who is set to hit the big screen in 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier ' - is glad he starred in the Marvel films but admits he no longer has as much passion for the franchise as he once did.
He said: "I would never trade in the decision to have done these movies. I've been wildly fortunate. I just don't know if my heart's as in it as it once was." The hunk plays the titular character, who is also known as Steve Rogers, in the sequel to 2011's 'Captain America: The First Avenger' and feels he can relate to his alter-ego.
He told GQ magazine: "Steve has everything he wanted, and he's still not quite happy. It's like he's in his adolescence, trying to figure out where he fits in, who he is and what he wants."
Evans hinted he'd step back from fronting films and would prefer to be involved in the filmmaking process because he isn't a fan of the additional responsibility an actor is forced to undertake. He added: "I would imagine the world of a director is a little bit cleaner in terms of your responsibilities."
Chris Evans often prefers quiet evenings in to wild club night now he's no longer in his 20s. The hunky Captain America actor was once a regular on the Hollywood party scene, but says in recent years he has calmed down his fun-loving ways.
But far from being boring, 32-year-old Chris merely says that his idea of fun has changed with age. "In your twenties you think, 'How will I ever not like going out?' You have drinks, buddies, music - great! But in the last two or three years, I go to a club and I kind of wish I was home.
"My idea of a good time has evolved a bit, so a night out with me might not be as exciting as it might have been a couple of years ago," Chris laughed to British magazine Glamour.
Although cosy nights in have become more appealing for Chris, the actor still can't resist partying with his Avengers co-stars. The next Avengers instalment is due to hit cinema screens in 2015, and boasts an A-List line-up including Scarlett Johansson, Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr..
"It's different with those guys. You're like, 'Come on guys, this is great! This isn't going to last forever and this is a really fun group of people doing a really fun thing. Let's go get drunk!' I try to be the motivating force. Everyone's married and has kids and sh*t like that, so I'm still the one single guy going, 'Come on, shots!'" he smiled.
Marriage and children are on Chris' to-do list and he sees both in his future. "I want to get married, though I want children - to me that's the ultimate thing. When you're old and on your death bed, looking back at your life it's not going to be the films you've made or what you've accomplished, it's the relationships you have. You're survived by things that matter - the people you love and those who love you back," he concluded.
